Ecommerce Operator, US Fashion Brand. Up to $2,500/mo. Not a VA Role.

Confidential employer

Read this entire post before applying. Most applications are rejected in under sixty seconds. We are a US women's fashion brand headquartered in Los Angeles. We run our own warehouse, launch 30 new products every two weeks, and move real volume. The owner runs 30+ employees across multiple companies. This seat reports into our LA management team and sits with the owner every single week. We are filling one position: [Data Analytics Specialist / Merchandising Specialist / Website and UX Coordinator] Who we are actually looking for You have held a real position at a real company. You have owned a function, not a queue of tasks. You have sat in rooms where decisions were made and you were expected to arrive with a point of view. You are exceptionally analytical. You do not look at a dashboard and describe it. You look at it and find the thing nobody else noticed, then you build the case for what to do about it. You know the difference between a number that moved and a number that matters. You can take a messy export, find the story inside it, and explain that story to a non-technical person in one paragraph. You know Shopify end to end. Not the basics. Everything. Collections and automated collection rules, tags, metafields, variants and inventory logic, Search and Discovery, filtering, analytics and custom reports, discounts and price rules, theme sections and templates, apps and where they break, checkout behaviour, and how all of it connects. If your Shopify experience is "I've uploaded products," this is not your role. You manage yourself, completely. Nobody will build your day for you. You will not be handed a list of ideas to execute. You are expected to generate the ideas, prioritise them yourself, and defend why you chose one over another. If you finish everything by 2pm, you go find the next problem. That single trait matters more to us than anything on your CV. You will lead. You are one of three specialists who run this department together, and you are expected to lead within it, hold the other two to the standard, and grow into managing people directly as we scale. We promote from this seat. We do not hire above it. You are relentless about time. You push the limit of what can be done in a working day, every day. You are not busy, you are productive, and you know the difference. Slow weeks are visible here and they are not tolerated for long. You have real interpersonal skill. You work daily with our LA marketing manager, inventory manager, designer, email and social leads, and the owner. You can disagree with someone senior, make your case cleanly, and then commit to whatever gets d ---------- . You bring problems early, not late. You are the person others want on the call. You write and speak English at a native US standard. Not "good English." American level. Ideally you have lived, studied or worked in the United States, or spent years working directly with American executives, and it shows in how you write. We will know within two sentences. Results, plainly You will own a specific set of numbers. Conversion, average order value, sell through, revenue per visitor, depending on the seat. Every Friday you report what you changed and what it moved. Every month we look at whether the business actually improved. This is a high accountability seat with real upside. People who move the numbers grow quickly here and are paid accordingly. People who cannot, do not stay. We are direct about this on day one so nobody is surprised at day 90. Do not apply if Your background is customer service, chat support, appointment setting, cold calling, lead generation, or general VA work You need a script, a checklist, or daily instructions to be productive You have never owned a number a business cared about You want part time, or plan to run this alongside other clients You are applying to more than three jobs today The details Full time, 40 hours per week, single client, long term 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Los Angeles time. Roughly midnight to 8:00 AM Manila. Do not apply unless that is genuinely sustainable for you Reachable and ready to join a call at short notice throughout those hours, camera on Two short team stand ups daily, plus two meetings a week with LA management and ownership Reports to our Marketing Manager and Inventory Manager. Weekly with the owner Up to $2,500 per month, based on what you actually bring. Reviewed at 90 days Clear path into a leadership seat as the department grows How to apply Applications that skip any step are deleted unread. Begin your message with the word CALIBER In three sentences: the most important decision you made in a previous role, and what happened as a result The number you were responsible for in your last job, and whether you moved it Answer honestly: if you finished all your assigned work by 2pm, what would you do with the rest of the day? Rate your Shopify knowledge one to ten and justify the number with something specific you have built or fixed Your internet setup, and your backup when the power or connection drops A 90 second Loom or unlisted YouTube video introducing yourself. No script. We are listening to how you think and how you speak No generic cover letters. No unrelated portfolios. Answer the seven items and nothing else. Shortlisted candidates complete a paid test task on our real data, then interview on video with our LA team and the owner.

Operations Manager — Ecommerce & Property (Hands-On Role)

Confidential employer

About us We run four businesses under one roof: a premium home décor e-commerce brand (25+ years in business, our own Florida warehouse, featured in Architectural Digest and Elle Decor), a wholesale trade division, and three self-storage and warehouse properties in Florida. We're a small team. The owners are currently the escalation point for everything, and we're hiring you so that stops being true. Read this part carefully This is a working role, not a pure management role. About half your week is overseeing a small team. The other half is doing real work yourself — the kind that takes judgment and can't be handed to a rep: chargebacks, freight paperwork, carrier claims, marketplace issues, escalations. If you're looking for a role where you only manage and delegate, this isn't it. We want someone who's good at both and doesn't consider hands-on work beneath them. What you'll do The team (about half your time) Oversee a small remote team of customer service and operations reps across e-commerce and our storage properties Define what good performance looks like — you'll help build our KPIs, not just report on them Track performance weekly: productivity, active hours, response times, ticket volume, resolution rates, occupancy and delinquency on the properties Address problems the same week you see them, not the next month Run daily check-ins and weekly one-on-ones Own scheduling and coverage, including who covers when someone is out Onboard and train new hires against our written procedures Cross-train the team so no task has only one person who can do it Run quality reviews on customer email s, chats, and calls, and coach on what you find Document performance problems in writing, on time, following our process Interview candidates when we're hiring Recommend when someone isn't working out — the final call is ours, but we'll rely on your read Building how we work Design workflows for work that currently has none Keep our written procedures current. When something changes, the document changes Find recurring problems and fix the cause, not the symptom Look for what's falling through the cracks and close the gap before we notice it Hands-on work (about half your time) Chargebacks and payment disputes — filing, evidence, follow-through BOLs and freight paperwork, inbound and outbound Carrier claims and delivery failures — the ones a rep can't resolve Vendor and contractor invoice review — verifying what we're billed matches what was delivered Amazon and marketplace issues that need real problem solving Customer escalations the team can't close Whatever else needs a brain rather than a script Reporting Weekly report to ownership: what moved, what didn't, what needs a decision from us Bring us decisions, not status updates What we're looking for Required 2+ years managing or supervising people, with real responsibility for their performance You've had the hard conversation. You've told someone their work wasn't good enough and documented it Comfortable with numbers — you can read a report, spot what's wrong, and act E-commerce operations experience (Shopify or similar) Strong written and spoken English. You'll be on calls with US vendors, carriers, and sometimes customers You finish things. If you start something you close it, or you tell us why it didn't close Willing to work with time-tracking software — and to manage a team that uses it Works US Eastern hours, Monday–Friday No other job or client commitments Strongly preferred Chargeback or payment dispute experience Freight, BOLs, carrier claims, or 3PL exposure Amazon Seller Central Property management, self-storage, or leasing experience Experience writing procedures or building workflows from scratch Experience interviewing or onboarding remote staff Not a fit if You want a role where you only delegate and report You consider hands-on work below your level You need someone above you to make routine calls You've only managed by being liked What we offer Competitive rate based on experience Real ownership. You'll shape how this operation runs, not just execute someone else's plan A small, established, profitable company with 25+ years of history Direct access to the owners. No layers, no politics Written procedures for most of what we do — and where they don't exist, you'll write them Long-term, stable position Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, US Eastern time. Please note: we use time-tracking software across the entire remote team, including this role. We measure results, but activity is tracked and we're upfront about it. To apply Answer these in your application. Applications without answers won't be read. Write your own answers — please don't use AI. 1. Tell me about a team you managed or supervised. How many people, doing what, and what numbers were you responsible for? 2. Describe a time someone on your team wasn't performing. What exactly did you do, and how did it end? 3. You take over a team where one task has been slipping for months. Everyone tells you it's handled. It isn't. Walk me through your first two weeks. 4. Tell me about a hands-on problem you solved yourself — a dispute, a claim, a shipping mess, something complicated. What did you do? 5. What time zone are you in, and what would 9am–5pm US Eastern look like locally for you?
