About the Role

We are Occamize, a US performance ad agency. We make Facebook and Instagram video ads for online brands. We are looking for one video editor to join us full time and grow with us for years, not months.

The work is steady and detailed. Every ad comes with a written brief that gives you the script, shot order, hook, captions and sizes. We need someone who follows the brief exactly, cuts what is not needed, and keeps the tenth version as clean as the first. It is not about adding your own creative ideas. It is about telling a clear story in 30 seconds.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years editing short-form video, ads preferred
  • Strong English reading, because every task is a written brief
  • Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve
  • Fast, stable internet and a computer that edits HD footage smoothly
  • At least 4 hours a day overlapping 9am to 4pm US Mountain Time (12am to 7am Philippine time)

What you will do:

  • Edit UGC, talking head and product footage into 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 ads
  • Make hook and CTA versions of winning ads
  • Add captions, text overlays, simple motion and music per the brief
  • Deliver in Google Drive using our naming convention

What we offer:

  • A long-term, full-time role with one team
  • Clear briefs and fast feedback
  • Pay on time, every month

How to apply:

Use the subject line "Essential Editor - [Your Name]".
Send 2 or 3 ads you edited and say what you did on each.
Answer the five questions below.
Shortlisted applicants get a paid test edit ($30).

Questions:

Which editing software do you use most, and how many ads have you edited in it in the last 3 months?
A brief says "cut to 30 seconds, captions in white, no music." The story only works at 34 seconds. What do you do?
Describe the most repetitive editing project you have done. How did you keep the 50th version as clean as the first?
You have a 60 second customer testimonial. In two or three sentences, how do you d ---------- what to cut for a 20 second ad?
How many hours a day can you work between 9am and 4pm US Mountain Time?
