About the Role

We're hiring a video editor for a new YouTube channel of police bodycam videos. For each video you'll receive the bodycam footage and a script with timestamps. You'll cut the footage to the script and make it entertaining to watch. We're looking for someone to work with us on an ongoing basis.

The story is already picked out. Your job is to make 15–20 minutes of bodycam footage hold attention, without changing what happened.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Cut the footage to the script's timestamps: a short cold open from the best moment, then the stop as one clear story.
  • Add transitions, zooms, pictures, on-screen text, music and sound effects that keep it moving and make the funny moments land.
  • Keep the bodycam audio clear: level the dialogue, keep music under it, and bleep strong swearing.
  • Export to our settings and upload each finished video to our shared Google Drive.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Examples of YouTube videos 10 minutes or longer that you edited yourself, ideally bodycam, police, true crime or commentary.
  • Confidence with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or similar, including sound design and audio mixing.
  • Comic timing: you know when a zoom, sound effect or pause makes a moment funnier, and when to leave it alone.
  • Good English, for following the script and catching what's said on muffled bodycam audio.
  • Reliable deadlines and clear communication.

Workload: To start, 2 videos a week, each 15–20 minutes long. Footage and scripts are supplied.

Turnaround: Within 48 hours of receiving the footage and script.

HOW TO APPLY

Start your application with the word "lemon" and include:

1. Your email address

2. Your portfolio link

3. Links to 2–3 YouTube videos you edited that are 10 minutes or longer, and what you did on each

4. Links to any bodycam, police or true crime YouTube channels you've edited for, what you did and when (or "none yet")

5. Your current workload: how many videos you edit a week, and how many more you could take on for us

6. An edit idea for this imaginary moment: a boater tells the officer he's only had two beers while an empty case floats past behind him. What would you add to make it land, in 1–2 sentences?

7. The editing software you use, and where you get your music and sound effects

8. Your expected rate (per video or per month)

9. The hours you work (Philippine time)

10. Your ---------- username

Applications that skip the code word or any of items 1–9 won't be reviewed.
