Senior Architect / Architectural Design Lead — Remote, Canadian Firm
Confidential employer
Kiras Engineering Ltd. is a Canadian engineering firm seeking an experienced architect based in the Philippines to lead our architectural design team.
You will take over architectural design leadership from our founder, report directly to him, and lead a growing team of existing BIM/Revit team members. This is a senior leadership role requiring sound technical judgement, initiative, and the ability to operate independently from the outset.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and coordinate the team’s work, priorities, and deliverables.
- Develop practical building designs, details, and specifications.
- Lead building code reviews, including occupancy, fire protection, exiting, and occupant life safety.
- Develop and review building envelope assemblies, including air, vapour, moisture, and thermal control.
- Review drawings for technical accuracy, completeness, and coordination with structural and other disciplines.
- Mentor team members and communicate clearly with clients, consultants, and our founder.
Requirements
- A degree in architecture and at least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience in architectural design, building code analysis, and building envelope detailing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a design team and deliver coordinated construction documents.
- Proficiency in Revit and experience reviewing BIM-based deliverables.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Reliable, accountable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of decisions and deadlines.
- Availability to work Canadian team hours.
North American project experience is an asset, particularly in cold and snowy climates, but is not required. Training in Canadian codes and construction practices will be provided where needed. You must bring the experience and leadership skills to guide the team immediately while developing that local knowledge.
Compensation and growth
- Starting compensation of PHP 100,000 per month, with opportunities for increases as responsibilities and performance develop.
- Fully remote position with paid vacation and health benefits.
- Direct collaboration with the founder and meaningful responsibility for developing our architectural services.
- Potential long-term support toward Canadian architectural licensure, including relevant continuing education or an appropriate RAIC pathway, subject to eligibility and mutually agreed plans.

1. Your experience leading architectural teams.
2. Your direct involvement in building code reviews and building envelope design.
3. Any North American or cold-climate project experience.
