About the Role

We are an international luxury womenswear label selling to more than 1,000 boutiques and department stores worldwide. Our production is growing fast: next season's volume will be about ten times higher. We are looking for a technical designer who will follow our production in China from A to Z, and be our eyes and voice on the ground.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Follow every order from A to Z: tech packs, fittings, samples, bulk production, quality control and shipment.
  • Source fabrics, trims and new factories, and negotiate prices and lead times.
  • Check that every factory follows our approved samples, measurements and tech packs.
  • Keep factories on schedule, and flag any delay or quality issue immediately.
  • Carry out quality inspections before shipment, and approve or reject goods.
  • Work closely with our warehouse and logistics partner on shipments.
  • Represent us locally, so we are treated as a respected client.
  • Report every week on production status, risks and next steps.

TRAVEL

  • You travel to China, mainly the Greater Bay Area, about once a month.
  • You can fly at short notice when a factory needs a visit.
  • 100% of travel costs are paid by us: flights, hotels, local transport and daily expenses.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 3 years of experience as a technical designer or production manager in womenswear, ideally in the luxury or premium segment.
  • Hands-on experience with Chinese factories: sampling, bulk production and quality control.
  • Strong knowledge of tech packs, pattern corrections, grading and fabrics.
  • Sourcing experience: fabrics, trims and factories.
  • Firm and diplomatic: you make sure deadlines and quality are respected.
  • Fluent English. Mandarin or Cantonese is a strong plus.
  • A valid passport, and able to obtain a Chinese visa.
  • Willing to work with Hubstaff time tracking when working remotely.

WE OFFER

  • A long-term, full-time position (40 hours per week), starting immediately.
  • USD 3 per hour plus a bonus: around USD 1,000 per month in total.
  • The bonus is paid for orders delivered on time and in the right quality.
  • 100% of travel costs paid, from A to Z.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply via ----------

  • Choose "Technical designer / production China" and upload your CV and portfolio.
  • In "Tell us briefly about your experience", describe one production problem with a factory that you solved.
  • Enter the code word FACTORY.
