About the Role

Hi! I'm looking for an incredibly talented YouTube thumbnail designer who genuinely lives and breathes YouTube!

I'm not looking for someone who simply knows Photoshop or Canva. I want someone who understands YouTube psychology, storytelling, click-through rates (CTR), and what makes someone stop scrolling and actually click on a video.

Ideally, you've worked with successful YouTube channels, understand what makes videos perform, and have an exceptional eye for design.

HOW WE'LL WORK TOGETHER

I'll send you my completed YouTube video (typically 20–30 minutes), and from there, I want you to take the creative lead.

Your job will be to:

  • Watch the video and understand the story, message, and most interesting moments.
  • Identify the strongest hook or angle that would make someone want to watch.
  • Come up with a compelling thumbnail concept that creates curiosity + clickbait (but in a good way).
  • Design a beautiful, professional thumbnail that fits my channel's aesthetic.
  • Bonus points if you can recommend strong YouTube titles that complement your thumbnail!

I don't want to have to explain exactly what to design every time. I'm looking for someone who can bring their own ideas, creative instincts, and expertise to the table.

THE AESTHETIC

My channel is a lifestyle channel focused on cozy living, home, routines, personal growth, and everyday vlogs.

I'm drawn to thumbnails that feel:

  • Editorial, elevated, and Pinterest-worthy
  • Beautifully composed with natural colors and cohesive color grading
  • Creative with collages, photo cutouts, layering, and typography
  • Personal, relatable, and visually interesting
  • Aesthetically pleasing while still optimized for clicks
  • Grabs your attention immediately

I'll provide examples of thumbnails I love so you can understand the creative direction.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

---------- (PLEASE OPEN)

  • Someone who genuinely LOVES YouTube and studies successful channels.
  • Proven experience designing thumbnails for successful YouTubers.
  • A deep understanding of CTR, audience psychology, visual storytelling, and thumbnail strategy.
  • Exceptional Photoshop, photo manipulation, and compositing skills.
  • Someone who understands lifestyle, vlog, home, and personal-brand content.
  • Someone who can turn ordinary footage into an irresistible thumbnail.
  • Strong creative instincts and the confidence to pitch their own ideas.
  • Reliable communication and turnaround times.

TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE

1. Your portfolio featuring your 5 best YouTube thumbnails.
2. Links to YouTube channels you've worked with, especially successful channels. Tell me what you contributed.
3. Have any of your thumbnails achieved impressive CTRs or helped videos outperform? I'd love to see examples!
4. Who are your 3 favorite YouTube creators when it comes to thumbnails, and why?
5. If I sent you a 20-minute lifestyle vlog without any direction, how would you figure out the best thumbnail?
6. Are you comfortable suggesting YouTube titles as well?
7. What is your rate per thumbnail?

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a paid, per-thumbnail opportunity with the potential for consistent, long-term work. ($5 for trial and $10-$15 per thumbnail if hired)

I'm looking for a creative partner who gets genuinely excited about YouTube, cares about the details, and wants to help build something successful.

If you're someone who analyzes YouTube thumbnails for fun and understands both the creative and strategic side of making videos successful, I'd love to hear from you!
