CEO MUM Podcast — Video Editor
Confidential employer
CEO MUM is looking for an experienced freelance Podcast Video Editor for our upcoming 10-episode season, with the potential for ongoing work afterwards.
CEO MUM, hosted by Jada Sezer, is an interview-led video podcast about motherhood, ambition, careers and entrepreneurship, for ambitious women expecting or raising young children. Our message: Become a mother. Keep building.
You'll take each recording through the complete post-production process: the long-form video episode, professionally mastered audio, a trailer, and, if it's your strength, social clips, thumbnails and covers.
We want an all-rounder, but three skills come first:
1. Editing. You can shape a 60-minute, two-camera conversation into a tight, story-led episode of about 40 minutes, with clips that stop the scroll.
2. Sound. You can deliver a finished, professional podcast audio master: clean, warm, balanced and mastered to spec. This is essential, not a bonus.
3. Colour grade. You can make every frame look bright, clean and premium, with two cameras matched and skin that looks natural and luminous. This is essential too.
We know few editors are equally strong at everything. When you apply, you'll rate yourself in each area and tell us your strongest and weakest skills. If short-form clips or design (thumbnails, Reel covers) aren't your strength, that's fine: you can quote for the long form and trailer only, and we'll give the rest to someone else.
The look is Vogue: sophisticated, editorial, bright and clean. The pace is Hot Smart Rich podcast: light, commercial and easy to listen to while driving, doing your make-up or pushing a buggy.
WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE FOR EACH EPISODE
Everything is shared through ---------- . We will give you a brief with transcript notes, so you won't build the editorial structure from scratch, but we want your creative eye to improve the pacing and spot extra moments that could do well on social.
- Raw interview footage: two camera angles and separate host and guest audio tracks (about 60 minutes)
- A full transcript with timestamps
- Jada's edit notes: running order, planned cuts, chapter structure, suggested social moments with timecodes, and any sensitive sections that must stay long-form only or never be clipped
- Jada's trailer intro (one continuous piece to camera) and the key moments to cut into it
- The CEO MUM CTA outro (video and audio), reused every episode
- Music: our licensed CEO MUM jingle and stems
- The editor library in ---------- > ASSETS: fonts, logos, music licence, white studio thumbnail background and templates
- The full Editor's Brief, with running orders, specs and examples
1. EDITING (TOP PRIORITY)
The full episode (16:9)
- Cut about 60 minutes down to about 40 minutes, never more than 50
- Multi-camera edit: sync the separate audio tracks and both cameras
- Restructure the story: open on the strongest moment, then tell the guest's story in order. The order of the interview is never the order of the edit
- After Jada signs off in ---------- , export two versions: Spotify (CEO MUM watermark top right) and YouTube (completely clean)
The trailer
- 30–60 seconds, every episode: Jada's intro cut at natural pauses, with interview moments dropped in, ending on the strongest line
- Delivered at 16:9 (opens the full episode) and 9:16 (Clip 01 on social, with the CEO MUM logo and subtitles)
Social clips (9:16, for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts) (if you take on clips)
- 10 clips per episode: the trailer clip plus 9 key moments. Length depends on the moment, usually 30–90 seconds
- Subtitles: phrase by phrase (2–4 words). Every word checked against the audio, names spelt correctly
2. SOUND (ESSENTIAL)
Sound is one of our three priorities, and we'll test it closely on the trial. Please only apply if you're confident producing a finished professional podcast audio master, not just adjusting volume levels.
3. COLOUR GRADE AND SKIN (ESSENTIAL)
The grade is a big part of the CEO MUM look, and we'll judge it as closely as the edit and the sound. We need someone with real colour grading skills, not someone who only applies a preset or LUT.
4. THUMBNAILS AND COVERS (WANTED, BUT CAN GO TO SOMEONE ELSE)
Tell us honestly how strong you are here and send examples. If design isn't your strength, we can give this part to someone else.
- YouTube thumbnails
- Instagram Reel covers
THE EDITING STYLE
CEO MUM is conversational, premium, warm and honest. We want the pace of a strong modern interview podcast: engaging and tight, without feeling over-edited.
Hard no's: manufactured controversy or misleading edits, generic clickbait headlines, the spoken guest welcome at the start, constant zooms or jump cuts, meme sounds or swooshes, trend effects, emojis on screen, heavy-outline or all-caps subtitles, the spinning logo animation, stock footage or B-roll (unless Jada supplies it), and unlicensed music, fonts or stock.
We write the social captions, show notes and publishing copy. Your main job is excellent video and audio.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL: to show you've read the whole ad, put the word EDITOR in the subject line of your application. We may not review applications without it.
WHAT YOU DELIVER PER EPISODE
- Full episode with watermark (Spotify): MP4 16:9, 1920x1080, end card on
- Full episode, clean (YouTube): MP4 16:9, 1920x1080, end card on
- Trailer: 30–60 seconds, MP4 16:9 and 9:16
- Audio episode: WAV 48 kHz 24-bit master + MP3 (192 kbps or higher)
Video: H.264, frame rate matched to the camera, AAC audio at 48 kHz.
Additional but not essential:
- 9 clips with copy (logo + subtitles): MP4 9:16, 1080x1920
- 9 clips, completely clean: MP4 9:16, 1080x1920
- 3 YouTube thumbnail options: JPG/PNG 1280x720, under 2 MB
- 10 Instagram Reel covers: PNG 1080x1920

HOW TO APPLY
Put EDITOR in your subject line and send us:
