About the Role

We want videos people actually want to watch.

Inner Fire is an Australian pure cacao brand, and we're looking for a creative video editor who can turn ordinary footage into engaging, distinctive and memorable content.

We're not just looking for someone who knows how to cut clips and add transitions. We want someone who understands storytelling, knows how to capture attention, and can bring a message to life through creative editing.

Think clever storytelling, viral-worthy content, a little humour, unexpected creative touches and a polished, premium feel. Videos that make people stop scrolling, spark curiosity and leave them wanting to know more.

*WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING*

  • Edit short-form videos for social media, paid advertisements and marketing materials.
  • Turn provided raw footage into engaging and visually compelling content.
  • Develop creative approaches, hooks and storytelling techniques that capture attention.
  • Incorporate music, sound effects, captions, typography, motion graphics and transitions.
  • Follow Inner Fire's brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in colours, typography, visual identity and overall aesthetic.
  • Bring fresh ideas while keeping the intended message and marketing objectives in mind.
  • Work with feedback and deliver projects within agreed timelines.

*THE CREATIVE DIRECTION WE'RE AFTER*

We're looking for someone who can balance:

  • Engagement: Understands what makes people stop scrolling, watch and share.
  • Storytelling: Can communicate the essence of a message through thoughtful editing.
  • Personality: Knows how to incorporate clever humour and unexpected moments without forcing it.
  • Premium execution: Has a strong creative eye for visuals, pacing, composition and sound design.
  • Originality: Goes beyond generic templates, repetitive transitions and copy-and-paste social media edits.
  • Brand consistency: Can bring creative ideas to life while respecting and following established brand guidelines.

*WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR*

  • Proven video editing experience, preferably in short-form social media content and digital advertising.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing creativity, storytelling and editing versatility.
  • Good understanding of social media trends, audience engagement and video retention.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar editing tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and communicate effectively.
  • Resourcefulness, attention to detail and openness to feedback.
  • Experience working with creators, influencers, lifestyle, food or established consumer brands is a plus, but not a requirement. We're more interested in the quality of your work and your creative ability than the names on your portfolio.

*WORKING ARRANGEMENT & EXPECTATIONS*

  • Part-time / Freelance, remote arrangement.
  • Project-based assignments with potential for ongoing collaboration.
  • Flexible working schedule, with agreed deadlines and deliverables.
  • Rates based on experience, project scope and proposed arrangement.

We value honesty, transparency and accountability just as much as creativity. We expect reasonable and transparent pricing, realistic time estimates and honest reporting of actual hours worked. Any additional time or work outside the agreed scope should be communicated and approved beforehand.

We're not looking for rushed work, but we do appreciate efficiency, resourcefulness and people who take ownership of their responsibilities.

*PRACTICAL EDITING ASSESSMENT*

Shortlisted applicants will be given a practical editing exercise using footage and brand materials provided by Inner Fire.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to see your work!
