About the Position

We are a U.S.-based homeschooling family seeking an outstanding, experienced, patient, and engaging Kindergarten teacher to provide personalized online instruction for our child.

Our child is already enrolled in a structured American homeschool curriculum. We are not looking for a general virtual assistant, babysitter, or conversational English tutor. We need a skilled educator who can explain lessons effectively, develop foundational academic skills, and help our child achieve excellent academic results.

This is a long-term opportunity for a dedicated teacher who genuinely enjoys working with young children.

Key Responsibilities

Teach daily lessons using our existing OVS/FLVS curriculum and pacing guides.

Deliver excellent instruction in phonics, reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Develop strong letter recognition, phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, handwriting, number sense, and mathematical reasoning.

Explain concepts using interactive activities, storytelling, visual aids, manipulatives, games, and age-appropriate teaching techniques.

Guide the student through assigned lessons and support timely completion of coursework.

Conduct regular practice quizzes, oral assessments, and mastery checks.

Identify learning gaps immediately and provide targeted instruction.

Prepare the student to independently complete required assessments and discussions with assigned OVS teachers.

Review submitted assignment feedback and help the student improve.

Maintain an organized weekly lesson plan and assignment tracker.

Provide parents with brief daily progress reports and a weekly academic summary.

Build confidence, curiosity, independence, positive learning habits, and a love of learning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related teaching field.

Preferably a Philippine Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT).

At least 2 years of relevant Kindergarten or early elementary teaching experience.

Excellent spoken and written English with clear pronunciation.

Strong knowledge of systematic phonics, early literacy, and foundational mathematics.

Proven ability to engage young children in live online instruction.

Patient, energetic, encouraging, creative, and highly organized.

Comfortable adapting instruction to a child's learning pace.

Reliable internet, functional webcam, headset, quiet teaching environment, and backup connectivity.

Willingness to provide verifiable professional references and complete appropriate screening.

Preferred: Experience teaching U.S. elementary students, familiarity with American academic standards, and experience supporting online or homeschool curricula.

Performance Expectations

We expect the teacher to:

Prepare for every session and deliver engaging, structured lessons.

Maintain consistent progress against the official weekly curriculum schedule.

Help the student achieve genuine mastery before moving on.

Support timely completion of assigned coursework.

Encourage excellent academic performance without supplying answers to graded work.

Communicate learning difficulties and assignment concerns proactively.

Provide accurate, concise daily updates.

Our goal is A-level academic performance through genuine understanding, not memorization or answer-giving.
