AI Business Systems & Workflow Automation Specialist

About the Position

Chestnut Brook Consulting is seeking an exceptionally capable, independent, and technically resourceful professional to help design and build business management systems, AI-assisted workflows, dashboards, and operational automation solutions.

We are looking for a builder, a problem solver, and a self-starter.

The ideal candidate is someone who can receive a high-level business objective, independently research the available options, develop a practical solution, test it, and deliver a finished product with clear documentation.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of an assignment from concept through completion, with minimal supervision.

This position works directly with the Founder and Principal Consultant, supporting complex business and operational technology program management initiatives.

Technical Responsibilities

You will design and develop solutions involving:

Microsoft Power BI dashboards and data models

Power Automate workflows and business process automation

Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Lists

Azure DevOps project tracking and reporting

Freshservice intake and workflow integration designs

ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot prompt development

AI-assisted business processes and reusable automation tools

Executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and program administration systems

Excel-based analysis, reporting, and financial models

You will develop solutions using fictional or synthetic data, allowing the Principal Consultant to review and implement approved deliverables within separate enterprise environments.

You will receive business objectives, priorities, and access to approved development tools. You will be expected to determine the most effective approach, identify what information you need, and move assignments forward independently.

We do not expect you to know every technology or have every answer immediately. We do expect you to know how to research, learn, troubleshoot, and solve problems.

You should be comfortable presenting recommendations, explaining trade-offs, and challenging an approach when you identify a better solution.

You will have direct access to the Principal Consultant for decisions and clarification, but routine work should not require continuous supervision.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience designing and implementing business systems or workflow automations.

Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Power Automate, Excel, and Microsoft 365.

Strong experience using ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar AI technologies to develop practical solutions.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex assignments.

Strong analytical thinking and business process design skills.

Ability to produce professional documentation and implementation instructions.

Experience delivering working solutions, not just concepts or recommendations.

Experience with Azure DevOps, Freshservice, enterprise project management, and engineering or utility organizations is highly desirable.
