If you bring sharp attention to detail, strong technical curiosity, and clear communication skills, this role offers an exceptional platform to grow your career across CADD, LiDAR/point cloud processing, and GIS technology.
Key Responsibilities
CAD & Civil Design Execution: Generate 3D terrain models, corridors, alignments, cross-sections, and plan sheets using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation.
Point Cloud & LiDAR Data Processing: Extract existing topographic features, linework, and surface models from 3D laser scan data utilizing TopoDOT in MicroStation.
Plan & Detail Production: Draft civil roadway plans, structural drawings, profiles, and detail sheets adhering strictly to client and IDOT CADD standards.
GIS Integration: Utilize ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap to access, evaluate, and integrate spatial data into active engineering workflows.
Engineering Calculations & Support: Perform earthwork computations, quantity takeoffs, dimensional checks, and routine design support for project engineers.
Standards & Compliance: Review and interpret technical CADD specifications, state DOT standards, and local agency requirements.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving CADD software, geospatial technology, point cloud extraction techniques, and industry best practices.
Project Documentation & Collaboration: Support team organization and communication using Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and Google Workspace.
