Remote Estimator for a Long Island Restoration Leader? Own the Numbers That Tell Our Story.
If you’re the kind of person who can turn field photos, notes, and scopes into estimates nobody can argue with… but you’re tired of being a cog in a back-office machine with no ownership and no room to grow, keep reading.
Who This Is For:
-Experienced estimator, biller, or project documentation pro who takes pride in accurate, defensible work.
-You see the big picture without losing sight of the line items that make or break an approval.
-You’re a strong communicator who goes after the information you need. You don’t wait around, and you never let missing details make you the bottleneck.
-You have an insatiable appetite for learning and you’re excited to take full ownership of the estimating process.
-You thrive working remotely, stay self-driven without someone looking over your shoulder, and default to solutions, not excuses.
-This is a fully virtual Estimator role with United Water Restoration Group – Long Island, NY. You’ll capture the story and value of every restoration project in each estimate and invoice you build:
-Prepare accurate, timely, and defensible estimates and invoices that reflect the full scope of work performed.
-Translate field documentation, photos, notes, and reports into complete, compliant financial submissions that stakeholders can easily understand.
-Keep every estimate and invoice aligned with industry standards, internal pricing guidelines, and NYS regulations.
-Run thorough document and scope reviews so every billable item is captured and every cost is clearly explained before submission.
-Proactively pull the information you need from Project Managers and field teammates, following up until scope is clear, discrepancies are resolved, and nothing is holding up the job.
-Spot potential kickbacks or objections from stakeholders and resolve them before they happen.
-Build, own, and continuously improve the estimating and invoicing process so our AR team can collect quickly and without delay.
-Use templates, tools, and pricing standards to move fast without sacrificing accuracy or compliance.
-Keep field execution and financial documentation perfectly consistent, and own your projects from first draft through final approval.
It’s detail-heavy, deadline-driven, and your work goes straight to the General Manager for approval. If that makes you nervous, you’ll hate this. If that sounds like a chance to prove what you can do, you’ll love it here.
What Success Looks Like:

-Estimates submitted within 24 hours of receiving the scope of work.

-Clear, easy-to-understand costs on every estimate and invoice, so AR can collect without pushback or delay.
-Discrepancies resolved before they impact approvals or cash flow.
-A documented, repeatable estimating process that keeps getting better because you own it.
-Documentation that reflects the same excellence our crews deliver on site.
-What You Get Here (That You Don’t Get Everywhere Else)
-Full ownership of the estimating process – not a seat on an assembly line.
-A start-up mentality at a company primed for immense growth, with room for you to grow right along with it.
-A team that leads with urgency, empathy, and integrity – not chaos.
-Recognition and trust: we hire people who take ownership, and we let you own it.
Must Haves:
-Prior experience in estimating, invoicing, billing, or project documentation – restoration, construction, or insurance-related industries preferred.

-Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
-Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership of outcomes.
-Ability to work independently in the Eastern Standard Time zone (EST.) while collaborating closely with team members.
