E-commerce Creative Editor - Part-Time
We are looking for a creative, fast and reliable E-commerce Creative Editor to join Yakatoshi & Co., a premium travel brand selling innovative collapsible luggage.
This is not a traditional social media manager role.
We are looking for someone who can take raw footage, UGC videos, product photography and existing content and turn it into multiple high-quality advertisements and creative variations for paid social media.
Our goal is to build a consistent creative testing system, not spend an entire day perfecting one simple video.
Hours
Initially around 10 hours per week.
Hours are flexible and there is potential for the role to grow as the company grows.
What you will be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Editing short-form video ads for Instagram, Facebook , TikTok and Amazon
- Turning one piece of footage into multiple different ad variations
- Creating different hooks, openings and endings
- Editing UGC creator footage
- Adding captions, graphics, music and simple motion graphics
- Creating 15-second, 30-second and longer versions of advertisements
- Creating different CTA and promotional versions
- Creating seasonal versions for Black Friday, Christmas, New Year and other campaigns
- Creating simple image advertisements where required
- Resizing and adapting content for different platforms
- Organising our content library
- Helping maintain a consistent pipeline of new advertising creatives
- Researching successful advertisements from competitors and other e-commerce brands
- Suggesting new hooks, angles and creative ideas
Example of how we work
We may give you one video showing our collapsible suitcase.
Rather than producing only one advertisement, we want someone who can turn that footage into multiple different creative angles.
For example:
- "Your suitcase shouldn't take up half your wardrobe"
- Small apartment / storage problem
- Product feature-focused ad
- Travel-focused ad
- Comparison ad
- Packing-focused ad
- Promotional/discount version
- Different opening hooks
- Different CTAs
- Different lengths
The main body of the footage may sometimes remain similar, while the hook, captions, structure, CTA or offer changes.
We want to test lots of creative ideas and learn what performs best.
Speed and efficiency are important
We care about quality, but we also care about output.
We are not looking for an editor who spends 8-10 hours editing one relatively simple 15-30 second UGC advertisement.
For organised footage and a clear creative brief, we expect you to be able to efficiently produce multiple useful advertising creatives and variations.
Some advertisements will require more editing than others, so we do not expect every video to take the same amount of time.
However, we want someone who understands the importance of creative volume and testing in e-commerce advertising.
Skills we are looking for
You should have experience with:
- CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or similar editing software
- Short-form social media advertising
- UGC-style video editing
- Creating strong hooks
- Captions and motion graphics
- Understanding pacing and viewer retention
- Basic graphic design
- Creating multiple variations efficiently from existing footage
Experience working with e-commerce brands is strongly preferred.
Experience creating Meta/Facebook advertising creative is a major advantage.
What we are NOT looking for
We are not looking for someone who simply creates attractive Instagram posts.
Advertising creative needs to:
- Capture attention quickly
- Highlight a problem or desire
- Clearly demonstrate the product
- Keep people watching
- Communicate the offer
- Encourage people to purchase
You will not be responsible for managing our advertising campaigns.
Your main responsibility will be producing the creative that our advertising team can test.
Who you will work with
You will work directly with the founder.
We will provide:
- Raw footage
- Product photography
- UGC creator videos
- Scripts
- Creative briefs
- Advertising concepts
- Examples of advertisements we like
- Brand assets
We also want someone who is proactive and comfortable suggesting their own creative ideas.
Trial
We will begin with a paid trial project.
We will provide existing footage and ask you to create several different advertising variations from it.
If we work well together, this will become an ongoing part-time position.
How to apply
Please send:
1. A short introduction about yourself
2. Examples of short-form advertisements you have edited
3. Examples of work for e-commerce brands, if available
4. Which editing software you use
5. Your hourly rate
6. Your weekly availability
Please also answer these questions:
1. If we provided you with organised raw footage, UGC clips, product photos and a clear brief, approximately how many distinct ad creatives or useful ad variations would you expect to produce in 10 hours?
Please explain what level of editing you are assuming.
2. If we gave you one 30-second UGC video for a suitcase, how would you turn that footage into 5-10 different advertisements without needing to reshoot the footage?
3. What do you think makes a good e-commerce advertisement different from a normal social media video?
Please start your application with the word YAKATOSHI so we know you have read the full job description.
