SiteLadder is an SEO and digital marketing agency looking for a dependable, detail-oriented assistant to help with WordPress content publishing and on-page SEO implementation.

I'm looking for someone with hands-on WordPress experience and a solid understanding of SEO best practices. I will provide completed blog content and specific instructions. Your responsibility will be to properly format, optimize, and upload the content into client WordPress websites, then save it as a draft for my review and approval.

This is initially an assignment-based position, with the opportunity for consistent ongoing work for the right person.

Responsibilities

WordPress Content Management

Upload supplied blog articles into WordPress.

Format content using appropriate headings (H1, H2, H3), paragraphs, lists, and other formatting.

Preserve the supplied content and follow formatting instructions.

Add and configure internal and external links appropriately.

Set external links to open in a new browser tab.

Verify all links are functional and point to the correct destinations.

Save completed articles as drafts for review. Do not publish without authorization.

On-Page SEO Implementation

Understand basic on-page SEO principles and best practices.

Enter supplied SEO titles and meta descriptions using Yoast SEO or Rank Math.

Add appropriate image alt text based on the image and article context.

Verify URL slugs and heading structure.

Check internal linking and ensure relevant links are properly implemented.

Identify obvious on-page SEO issues and report them rather than making unapproved changes.

Image Optimization & Media Management

Download supplied images currently hosted on external CDNs when instructed.

Compress and optimize images while maintaining good visual quality.

Upload optimized images to the client's WordPress Media Library.

Replace external image URLs with locally hosted WordPress image URLs.

Verify that images display correctly and are appropriately sized.

Use descriptive filenames and alt text where appropriate.

Quality Assurance

Preview each completed article before submitting it.

Check formatting, headings, links, images, and overall presentation.

Ensure the finished article is saved as a draft.

Provide a brief completion update identifying any issues or questions.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience working with WordPress.

Good understanding of SEO fundamentals and on-page optimization.

Experience using Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or similar SEO plugins.

Familiarity with WordPress Media Library and image optimization.

Experience with image compression tools such as ShortPixel, TinyPNG, or similar.

Understanding of internal linking, external linking, heading hierarchy, meta titles, and meta descriptions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Good written English and reliable communication.

Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with multiple WordPress websites.

Familiarity with Elementor or other WordPress page builders.

Basic understanding of website performance and image file sizes.

Previous experience supporting an SEO agency or digital marketing business.

Work Arrangement & Compensation

Freelance, assignment-based work.

Flexible schedule; work is assigned as needed.

Initial workload will be relatively small, with potential for regular ongoing assignments.

Starting compensation: $7–$10 USD per hour, depending on experience.

Paid trial assignment required.
