About the Role

Full-Time | Long-Term | $900–$1,200 USD/month
HIGHLY EXPERIENCED APPLICANTS ONLY | REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED | PORTFOLIO REQUIRED

We are a growing real estate brand in the Chicago suburbs looking for a highly experienced YouTube + Social Media Manager who can take ownership of our content from raw footage to published content.

This is NOT an entry-level position and NOT simply a video editing role.

We are looking for someone who already has strong, proven experience with:

Long-form YouTube video editing

YouTube thumbnails and title strategy

Social media content creation

Reels and short-form video

Carousel design

Canva and marketing graphics

Managing content from idea through publishing

Previous real estate marketing or real estate social media experience is strongly preferred.

If you have worked with Realtors, real estate teams, brokerages, mortgage companies or other real-estate-related businesses, please make that very clear in your application and include examples.

IMPORTANT

No application will be considered without proof of relevant experience.

A résumé alone is not enough.

You must provide examples of work that you personally created or managed.

If you cannot show previous work in YouTube, social media, video editing, thumbnails and/or content management, please do not apply.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

YouTube

Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage

Keep editing polished, natural and engaging

Create strong thumbnail concepts and designs

Research and recommend titles

Work with us to finalize the title, thumbnail and video positioning

Upload and publish videos properly

Write and format descriptions

Understand CTR, retention and what makes someone click and continue watching

Review performance and recommend improvements

We do not want someone who simply asks:

"What thumbnail should I make?"

We want someone who can come to us with:

"Here are 3 thumbnail concepts I recommend, and here is why."

Social Media

Initially, we will provide many of the ideas and examples while you learn our brand.

You will be responsible for:

Editing Instagram Reels and short-form videos

Creating carousel posts based on examples and direction we provide

Designing clean, polished social graphics

Writing supporting captions and post copy

Repurposing long-form video into shorter content

Researching Chicago suburban real estate, communities, businesses, developments and local topics

Finding relevant content opportunities independently

Bringing new ideas to us proactively

Over time, we want you to understand our brand and market well enough that you are bringing ideas to us instead of waiting for assignments.

Design

You will also help with:

Postcards

Guides

PDFs

Social graphics

Canva projects

Other marketing materials

You do not need to be a full-time graphic designer, but strong aesthetic judgment and attention to detail are extremely important.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are specifically looking for someone who is already experienced, not someone hoping to learn these skills on the job.

You should have:

Proven YouTube editing experience

Proven social media experience

Strong thumbnail design skills

Strong Canva skills

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent visual judgment

Strong written English

Ability to research independently

Ability to follow an established brand

Ability to check your own work before submitting it

Ability to accept feedback and make revisions quickly

Strong organization and reliability

A proactive mindset

Most importantly, we want someone who takes ownership.

If you notice something that can be improved, tell us.

If you see a content opportunity, bring it to us.

If you don't know something about our market, research it.

We do not want someone who needs every task explained step-by-step.

REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE

Real estate experience is highly preferred.

If you have previously worked with:

Realtors

Real estate teams

Brokerages

Real estate coaches

Mortgage companies

Title companies

Home builders

Other real-estate-related businesses

please include those examples prominently in your application.

Candidates with strong real estate experience will receive priority consideration.

COMPENSATION

$900–$1,200 USD per month depending on experience and skill level.

Full-time, long-term position.

There is opportunity for increased compensation as responsibilities and performance grow.

HOW TO APPLY

Please read this carefully.

Applications without proof of experience will NOT be considered.

Do not send us only a résumé.

Your application must include:

1. 3 long-form videos you personally edited

Explain exactly what you were responsible for.

2. 3 thumbnails you personally designed

Include the corresponding video title if available.

3. Social media examples

Provide examples of Reels, carousel posts or social accounts you personally worked on.

4. Real estate examples

If you have worked in real estate marketing, send links or samples.

Tell us:

Who you worked for

What you were responsible for

How long you worked with them

5. One YouTube or social media account you helped manage

Tell us exactly what YOU did.

Do not simply say "I managed the account."

6. Performance proof

If available, include screenshots or examples showing:

Views

Watch time

Growth

Engagement

Leads

Other measurable results

7. Send a 2–4 minute Loom/video introduction

Tell us:

Your experience

Why this position interests you

What you believe separates a YouTube manager from a video editor

What part of this role you are strongest at

Whether you have real estate experience

8. Research our market

Our primary market is the Chicago suburbs, including areas such as Arlington Heights, Palatine, Mount Prospect, Barrington, Northbrook and Glenview.

Give us 3 specific content ideas you think could work for a local real estate account.

Do not give us generic ideas such as "5 Tips for Buying a Home."

We want to see how you research and think.

9. Current work situation
