YouTube Video Editor & Content Repurposing Specialist

About me:
I’m an established guitar educator with 35 years of teaching experience, thousands of students taught, two published books, and an existing social media presence with thousands of subscribers and millions of views. I’m building my online education business and looking for a reliable, creative person who can help me consistently produce and publish high-quality video content. I will be the face and voice of the business. My job is to teach guitar and record content. Your job is to help turn my recordings into finished videos which are ready to publish. I’m looking for a long-term working relationship with someone who is organized, communicates well, takes initiative, and can follow a repeatable workflow.

Responsibilities:
Initially, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Editing long-form YouTube guitar lessons from my recorded footage.
• Creating three to five short-form clips from each suitable long-form video for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other platforms.
• Adding captions and making appropriate cuts, transitions, and audio adjustments.
• Creating engaging YouTube thumbnails.
• Writing or preparing video titles, descriptions, and other publishing details.
• Organizing video files and maintaining a simple content production tracker.
• Uploading and scheduling approved content once we’ve established a workflow.
• As we develop our working relationship, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities.

Required qualifications
I’m looking for someone who:

• Has experience editing YouTube videos and short-form social media content.
• Can provide examples of previous work.
• Understands pacing, storytelling, and how to keep viewers engaged.
• Has experience with captions, audio cleanup, and basic color correction.
• Can create clean, professional thumbnails.
• Is organized, dependable, and responsive.
• Can follow instructions and accept constructive feedback.
• Is comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
• Experience with educational content, musicians, guitar instruction, or other instructional video channels is a plus.

How we will work together:

• I will provide the original recordings, teaching expertise, and direction.
• You will be responsible for editing and preparing the finished content according to our agreed workflow.
• I want to spend my time teaching on camera, not managing complicated editing software or handling every technical detail of video production.
• I’m interested in someone who can eventually manage the process from receiving the footage to delivering finished, publish-ready content.

Paid test project:

• Before making a longer-term commitment, I would like to start with a small paid test project.
• I will provide a previously recorded guitar lesson. Your task will be to:
• Edit one long-form YouTube video.
• Create three short-form clips from the same recording.
• Prepare a thumbnail for the long-form video.
• Suggest a title and prepare the video description.
• Please tell me your proposed price and estimated turnaround time for this test project.
• I will evaluate the quality of your work, communication, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
