YouTube Channel Manager - Lead and Organise Our Editors, Scriptwriters and Uploaders
Confidential employer
We run YouTube channels with a remote team of video editors, scriptwriters and uploaders, and we're hiring a channel manager to run that team day to day. We'll set the goals for each channel. You'll turn them into a plan, assign the work, keep communication clear and make sure everyone hits their deadlines. You'll also help us hire, using our applicant system to review candidates and bring new team members on board. We're looking for someone to work with us on an ongoing basis.
This is a management role, not a creative one. You won't be coming up with video ideas, writing scripts, editing or making thumbnails. Your job is keeping the team organised, on track and working towards the goal.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Turn the goals we set into weekly and daily plans for each channel, and assign the work to the right people.
- Be the team's main point of contact: answer questions, pass on instructions and keep communication organised in ---------- .
- Track every video from script to edit to upload, and make sure deadlines and upload schedules are met.
- Check that delivered work follows our SOPs and templates, and get fixes made when it doesn't.
- Review applicants in our hiring system, shortlist candidates, run test tasks and onboard new hires.
- Spot problems early, such as missed deadlines, slow replies or bottlenecks, and either sort them out or bring them to us with a solution.
- Send us regular progress updates against the goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience managing remote teams that produce YouTube content, such as editors, scriptwriters and uploaders.
- Channels or social media accounts you can link to, with a clear explanation of your role on each.
- Clear, confident written English for instructions, feedback and reports.
- Strong organisation, with experience tracking work in tools like Trello, ClickUp, Notion or Google Sheets.
- Experience hiring and screening freelancers (a plus).
- Reliability and fast replies during working hours, with good overlap with GMT+10.
