Documentary Video Editor

We are looking for a skilled video editor who can create high-quality, cinematic documentary-style videos for our YouTube channel.

We want videos with a polished, engaging storytelling style similar to premium streaming documentaries, with carefully selected visuals, smooth transitions, sound design, background music, and motion graphics that support the story.

Responsibilities

-Edit long-form YouTube videos with a cinematic documentary feel.
-Select relevant news footage, archival clips, article images, and other visuals to match the narration.
-Use smooth transitions, subtle motion graphics, and effects where appropriate.
-Add sound effects and background music to enhance the storytelling.
-Ensure clear voice-over audio and balanced sound levels.
-Maintain a strong pace that keeps viewers engaged throughout the video.
-Follow our editing guidelines, scripts, and reference videos.

Requirements

-Experience editing documentary-style or storytelling-focused YouTube videos.
-Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual presentation.
-Ability to find relevant footage that matches the narration.
-Good audio editing and sound design skills.
-Reliable communication and ability to follow instructions.
-Willingness to receive feedback and make revisions when needed.

Project Details

-Video length: Minimum of 8 minutes per video, depending on the script and final edit.
-Budget: $10 per 8-minute finished video, with the rate adjusted proportionally for longer videos.
-Potential for ongoing work for the right editor.
-We will provide scripts, audio recording and editing guidelines
