About the Role

I run several e-commerce brands in the Netherlands (supplements, skincare, home appliances) and I'm launching new ones regularly. I'm looking for one person who can take a product and turn it into a brand that sells: research who the buyer really is, learn how she talks about her problem, write copy in her own words, and build a beautiful Shopify website using Claude.

This is a strategy and execution role in one. You think like a brand builder, and you can actually ship the website yourself.

What you will be doing:

  • Buyer avatar research: dig into who buys the product, what problem keeps them up at night, what they've already tried, what they're afraid of and what finally makes them buy. Not guesses, actual research.
  • Language research: read Reddit threads, Amazon reviews, TikTok comments, Facebook groups and forums to find the exact words and phrases real customers use. Build a "voice of customer" document for every brand so our copy sounds like the customer, not like a marketer or an AI.
  • Branding: define the positioning, tone of voice, brand story and visual direction (colors, typography, photo style) for new brands. Benchmark against the best DTC brands in the category (think Arrae, Norse Organics, O Positiv, Aesop) and explain why their pages work.
  • Competitor and market analysis: what are the top brands abroad doing that nobody in the Netherlands does yet? Which angles, offers and page structures convert?
  • Website building with Claude: use Claude (Claude.ai, Claude Code or Cowork) to design and build complete Shopify landing pages and product pages. Long-form, social-proof-heavy product pages with reviews, before/after, FAQ, comparison tables, ingredient sections, bundles and subscription offers. The result has to look like a premium brand with a big budget, not like a template.
  • Copywriting: headlines, product pages, advertorials, email flows, written in the buyer's own language, in English or Dutch (Dutch is a plus, not required; I'll handle translation if needed).

Tools you must be comfortable with:

  • Claude (Anthropic) as your main working tool: for research, writing, and especially generating and editing website code and Shopify sections. You should know how to prompt it well, iterate on the output and fix things yourself.
  • Shopify: themes, sections, product pages, apps, basic Liquid or at least not being scared of it.
  • Figma or Canva for mood boards and brand guides.
  • Nice to have: Meta Ads knowledge, Klaviyo, Notion, basic HTML/CSS, Nano Banana or Midjourney for brand visuals.

What I expect from you:

  • You can take a product and a short brief and come back with a full buyer avatar, a voice-of-customer document, brand direction and a finished website, without me explaining every step.
  • You have real taste. You know the difference between a page that looks "fine" and a page that looks like a €10k agency built it.
  • Your copy never sounds like ChatGPT. No "Unlock your potential" type lines, no three-word slogans, no generic wellness talk. Plain, human sentences the customer would actually say herself.
  • You give honest input. If my idea is weak, tell me and show me a better one.
  • Good English, structured communication, and you keep me updated without me having to chase you.

How we work:

  • Start with a small paid test project (buyer research + one product page). If it's good, we continue long term.
  • Flexible hours, but reachable on weekdays, Netherlands time (CET).
  • We communicate via WhatsApp or Slack and share files through Google Drive and Notion.
  • Steady long-term work. I run multiple brands and launch new ones, so there is always a brand to build.

How to apply:

Send me:

1. Two or three websites or landing pages you built or wrote yourself (links). Tell me which tools you used and what part was yours.
2. One example of buyer avatar or voice-of-customer research you did for a brand (a document, a screenshot, anything real).
3. Two or three sentences on why the Arrae or Norse Organics product page converts well. Keep it short, I just want to see how you think.

Applications without examples will not be read.

To make sure you've read this whole post, start your application with the word SAFFRON. Applications that don't start with that word will be ignored.
