About the Role

About us
We're a fine-line tattoo studio in Seoul with about 94K followers on Instagram and 76K on TikTok. Many of our clients are international travelers planning a trip to Korea, and nearly all bookings start as an Instagram DM or a form on our website. We handle about 15 new bookings a day, with 50–100 in progress at any time.

The role
You'll be the first person our clients talk to. You'll answer their questions, quote prices, collect deposits, and make sure every booking is complete and correct before it reaches our artists. Once a booking is confirmed, you'll write up the client's design for our artists in Korean. You'll be trained by our senior booking assistant, following a detailed written playbook.

What you'll do

  • Reply to Instagram DMs and booking email s in a warm, personal tone, not copy-paste
  • Collect each client's details: flash or custom design, size, placement, color, dates, and references
  • Quote prices from our price sheet and send deposit instructions
  • Check deposit screenshots against payment notifications
  • Follow up with clients who go quiet after a quote
  • Assign bookings to artists by availability and add them to our shared Google Calendar
  • Once a deposit is confirmed, write the Artist Notes in Korean in our shared Google Doc: the client's design, tentative placement and approximate size, then let the artist know in KakaoTalk

◦ Flash designs: record the design in our standard format, so the artist knows exactly which one the client wants
◦ Custom designs: translate the client's ideas, references and needs into clear Korean so the artist can draw a first draft. Relay what the client said; don't reinterpret it

  • Write pricing notes our studio team uses for final invoices
  • Send design drafts to clients, collect revision requests, and confirm designs 24 hours before each session
  • Send prep info (pricing scale, directions, payment methods) to confirmed clients
  • Keep our lead tracker up to date
  • Pass unusual pricing, refund or reschedule requests to the owners

Must have

  • Excellent written English with a friendly, natural customer-service tone
  • Strong written Korean (reading and writing). Our artists don't speak English and rely on your notes to draw
  • Customer service or sales experience over chat or email
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with prices, dates and names
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets)
  • Reliable internet and a quiet place to work

Nice to have

  • Booking experience for a tattoo studio, salon, spa or other appointment-based business
  • Experience managing a brand's Instagram inbox
  • Experience translating between English and Korean
  • Familiarity with Korean culture or K-pop

How we work

  • Full-time, with working hours set in Seoul time (Manila is one hour behind)
  • Fast replies matter: clients book with whoever answers first
  • Access to our Instagram DMs is given through Meta Business Suite
  • Chat is our main channel for team communication. No all-day video calls
  • An end-of-day message on bookings handled and anything waiting
  • Hours are logged with a time-tracking app

Pay: DOE (depends on experience). Paid via Wise

How to apply
Send a short introduction, your expected rate, your Korean level (reading and writing), and your answer to the screening question below. Applications that don't answer it won't be reviewed. Shortlisted applicants will do a paid trial task.

Screening Question
Start your application with the word "Fineline". Then write the exact reply you would send to this Instagram DM:
"hiii how much is a small tattoo?? im visiting seoul in december with my friend!!"
A strong answer is warm and personal, asks for the details needed to quote (design, size, placement, dates), mentions booking with a friend, and doesn't make up a price.
Second, please translate the following line to Korean as if you were explaining it to a Korean artist who needs to draw a design: "I want the cat to look more cute, and it would be nice if we could add some sparkles or twinkles. For the colored bits can we make it look like watercolor?"
