Project Engineer (with MSP Experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Engineer with proven experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with the organization’s goals. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Management:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and clients.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, ensuring clear communication of project status, issues, and solutions.
Manage client expectations and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships.
Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and gathering feedback.
Team Coordination:
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, system administrators, and technical support staff, to ensure project tasks are completed on time.
Provide leadership and direction to the project team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Technical Expertise:
Utilize your technical background to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Oversee the implementation of IT solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.
Troubleshoot project issues and provide guidance to technical teams to overcome challenges.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards.
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and change logs.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management within an MSP or IT services environment.
Strong technical background with experience in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
PMP or ITIL certification is highly desirable.
Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with MSP tools like ConnectWise, Autotask, or Kaseya.
Familiarity with compliance standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, or ISO 27001.
Experience in agile project management methodologies.
