Job Title: Full-Time Social Media Manager (Dedicated Long-Term Role)
Organization: Hope for Stomach Cancer
Website: [ ---------- ]( ---------- )
Location: Fully remote / work from home (must work regular business hours, Pacific Standard Time)
Type: Full-time, dedicated individual (not an agency or contractor team)

About Hope for Stomach Cancer

Hope for Stomach Cancer is a US national nonprofit dedicated to empowering patients, caregivers, families, and the medical community affected by stomach (gastric) cancer. Founded by Aki Smith after her father’s diagnosis, we provide education, practical resources, support programs, research partnerships, and advocacy so that no one has to navigate this disease alone. Our work includes patient resources (such as Hope in a Bag), Patient Empowerment Summits, awareness campaigns, and ongoing efforts to improve early detection, treatment, and policy.

We are looking for a dedicated, experienced Social Media Manager who wants to settle into a long-term role and grow with the organization for many years.

The Role

You will work closely with Aki Smith, Founder and Executive Director, to create and execute approved social media content every day across YouTube, Facebook , Instagram, TikTok, and X. You will be the person responsible for turning strategy into consistent, high-quality posts that educate, support, and inspire the stomach cancer community.

This is a full-time position for one dedicated individual who values professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication. We are not seeking an agency or a rotating team. We operate with a continuous-improvement mindset—constantly looking for better ways to advance our mission. There is no status quo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and publish daily approved social media content across YouTube, Facebook , Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X
  • Produce high-quality video content, graphics, short-form clips, stories, reels, and supporting visuals
  • Edit videos, design graphics, and prepare assets that meet professional standards
  • Maintain consistent branding, tone, and messaging that reflect hope, education, and patient empowerment
  • Monitor engagement, respond professionally when appropriate, and report on performance
  • Collaborate closely with Aki Smith on content direction, approvals, and organizational priorities
  • Ensure every post and communication uses proper English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Actively contribute ideas for improving content, processes, and impact
  • Work with urgency each day, understanding that we are helping people fighting a very deadly disease

Requirements

  • Completely fluent in both spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills; strong grammar, punctuation, and clear professional speech are non-negotiable
  • Proven experience managing social media for organizations, nonprofits, or mission-driven brands
  • Advanced skills in video editing and graphic design/creation (able to produce polished content independently)
  • Comfortable working regular business hours in Pacific Standard Time
  • Highly organized, punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Ability to handle sensitive, emotional topics with empathy and care while remaining accurate and professional
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and interested in a stable, long-term position rather than short-term or project-based work
  • Open to learning new tools and processes as we continuously improve how we work
  • Work-from-home setup that includes a quiet, distraction-free space with rock-solid, reliable high-speed internet so you can join Zoom video calls without interruption
  • Ability to present yourself professionally on video calls: professional attire, professional environment/background, and no distracting background noise
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to our mission; ability to embrace the urgency of supporting people facing a very deadly disease

What We Offer

  • A full-time, dedicated role with a mission-driven nonprofit
  • Direct collaboration with the organization’s Founder and Executive Director
  • The opportunity to build a long-term professional relationship and grow with Hope for Stomach Cancer
  • Meaningful work that supports patients and families facing stomach cancer
  • All the tools needed to excel in the role, including Buffer (scheduling), Asana (project management), CapCut and Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing), Canva (graphic design), Google Workspace, Dropbox, and other resources required for high-quality daily content creation and execution. We are always open to evaluating and adopting any additional service or tool that can make us more effective and efficient
  • A culture focused on continuous improvement—we are always looking for better ways to advance our mission and refuse to settle for the status quo

How to Apply

Please send the following to [insert application email or instructions]:

  • Your resume or relevant work history
  • Links to social media accounts or portfolios you have managed
  • 2–3 examples of video content and graphics you have created
  • A short note explaining why you are interested in a long-term role with Hope for Stomach Cancer and confirming your ability to work PST business hours with excellent spoken and written English
  • Research our social media channels (YouTube, Facebook , Instagram, TikTok, and X) and provide a summary of what you see, along with how you might get involved and help us reach the next level with our social media efforts
  • Confirmation that you have a quiet work-from-home space with reliable internet and can present professionally on Zoom calls

We are looking for someone who is experienced, detail-oriented, adaptable, and genuinely ready to commit to this work for years to come. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
