Social Media Assistant Role

This social media role covers execution across:

• Social media posting/management
• Community engagement
• Short-form content creation
• Graphic design

Experience

• 1-3 years of social media experience
• 1-3 years of basic graphic design experience
• Canva minimum, but ideally having experience with Adobe suite

Expectations

• You will work closely with the Director of Content and Creative Producer
• 1 x Content meeting every Tuesday at 10am Pacific Time
• Additional occasional meetings with the Director of Content, Creative Producer, or Marketing Manager
• Focus on value-first content: intelligent, well-reasoned, logically sound, and insightful
• Ensure attention to detail in all writing. Our premed audience is harsh and discerning.
• Use Notion to ensure consistent and complete execution of all tasks

Responsibilities

• Social Media Account Management
• Manage all non-primary social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts) for Med School Insiders
• Maintain an up-to-date calendar in our Notion trackers
• Schedule posts in advance using Later, Meta, and YouTube Studio
• Promote engagement across the accounts through polls, questions, etc.
• Monitor accounts for community engagement opportunities
• Manage ManyChat for automated responses, including sharing event links and downloadable tools
• Content Creation
• Work with editors to create short-form video content
• Choose timestamps for engaging short-form content
• Review short-form captions for spelling, grammar, and medical terminology
• Basic CapCut editing for additional short-form content
• Canva for creating social images, carousels, quotes, and infographics
• Canva for creating blog featured images
• BONUS: additional photo and graphics editing experience is an asset.
• Community Moderation
• Assist with engagement in our course community
• Assist with engagement in our Skool premed community
• Data and Analytics
• Monitor metrics to look for areas we can improve across our social media channels
• Present a monthly report on channel progress.
