About the Role

JILG, Houston, Texas (remote)
Full-time, 9:00am to 5:00pm Central Time, Monday through Friday
Pay: $___ per hour, depending on experience

JILG is a plaintiff personal injury firm in Houston. We need someone to get a case from the end of treatment to a finished demand. You’ll request and follow up on medical records and bills until every one is in the file, organize them, and write the demand package the attorney reviews and sends.

What you’ll do:

Request medical records and bills from providers and follow up by phone and email until they come in
Track every request, each fee paid and the date it was received, and log retrieval costs to the case
Check the records against the client’s treatment list so nothing is missing before we draft
Build medical chronologies and treatment summaries
Draft demand letters with the injuries, treatment, specials and how the crash changed the client’s daily life
Flag gaps in treatment, prior injuries and billing problems for the attorney
Keep the case file and notes current so anyone on the team can see where a case stands

What we’re looking for:

At least 2 years of plaintiff personal injury experience, with records retrieval, demand writing or both
Steady work history; tell us how long you stayed with each employer
Strong written English. You’ll be writing to adjusters for the firm
Comfort on the phone with US medical offices and billing departments
Experience with Texas cases, Supio, SharePoint or Outlook is a plus
Reliable internet and a quiet workspace during US Central business hours

How to apply:

Send your resume and answer every question below. Applications without all five answers won’t be considered.

A provider has had our records request for 30 days, says they never got it, and wants a $75 fee before releasing anything. Walk us through what you do next.
The client says treatment ended, but the bills you received show three more visits than the records. How do you handle it?
In a few sentences, tell us how you would describe a client’s injuries and their effect on daily life in a demand letter.
Name the PI firms you’ve worked for, how long you stayed at each and the number of demands you wrote there.
What hourly rate are you asking for, and are you available full-time from 9:00am to 5:00pm Central?

Start your message with the words “Case Resolution” so we know you read the whole post.
