BP Construction Company is a growing construction company based in San Antonio, Texas, USA. We specialize in commercial and residential construction, including wood framing, metal stud framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and general contracting projects.

We are hiring an experienced Construction Estimator who can independently manage the complete estimating and bidding process from start to finish.

BP Construction Company is seeking an experienced construction estimator who can independently prepare complete and accurate estimates for U.S. commercial construction projects.

We specialize in:

Commercial metal stud framing

Commercial wood framing

Drywall installation

Batt and sound insulation

Acoustical ceiling systems (ACT)

Exterior sheathing

Rough carpentry and blocking

This position requires direct experience estimating U.S. commercial drywall and framing projects.

We are not looking for someone who only performs basic square-footage takeoffs.

Responsibilities

Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and addenda.

Perform detailed material takeoffs using Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent software.

Prepare wall-by-wall framing and drywall takeoffs.

Calculate accurate material quantities, waste factors, and labor costs.

Request and compare material quotations from U.S. suppliers.

Prepare complete estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit.

Identify scope gaps, specification conflicts, exclusions, and RFIs.

Maintain organized estimating worksheets and supporting documentation.

Prepare bid proposals for management approval.

Meet commercial bid deadlines with minimal supervision.

IMPORTANT: Required Takeoff Format

All framing and drywall takeoffs must include individual wall dimensions.

Metal Framing:

Wall type and location

Individual wall lengths

Wall heights and required stud lengths

Stud sizes, gauges, and spacing

Track quantities

Blocking, bracing, and other required components

Drywall:

Individual wall lengths and heights

Board type and thickness

Number of layers on each side

Board sizes and sheet quantities

Ceiling drywall where applicable

Providing only total SF or LF quantities is not acceptable. Detailed takeoffs must allow BP Construction to verify measurements and prepare accurate material orders.

Required Qualifications

At least 3 years of relevant construction estimating experience.

Previous experience estimating U.S. commercial metal framing and drywall projects.

Strong knowledge of U.S. construction drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar estimating software.

Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and organized estimating workbooks.

Ability to independently prepare complete bids.

Strong written and spoken English.

Reliable internet connection and computer.

Ability to meet deadlines and communicate regularly.
