Short-Form Video Clipper / Editor (YouTube Shorts) – Ongoing

We run a family YouTube channel and post long-form horizontal videos regularly. We’re looking for a skilled clipper and editor to turn those videos into engaging vertical short-form clips (15–60 seconds each) for YouTube Shorts and other platforms.

This is an ongoing role with a minimum of 5 clips per week, and room to grow for the right person.

What you’ll do

Watch our long-form videos and pick out the best moments for Shorts: the funniest, most emotional, surprising or engaging parts that grab attention fast and hold it
Cut each moment into a tight clip of 15–60 seconds with a strong hook in the first few seconds
Convert horizontal footage to vertical (9:16), keeping framing clean and the right person in frame
Reframe frame by frame when needed so whoever is talking or the main action is always properly centered
Deliver clips on a consistent weekly schedule

What matters most

A great eye for moments. You can tell what will perform as a Short and what won’t. This is the most important part of the job.
Clean vertical framing. You take the time to keep speakers and action properly framed, even if that means adjusting keyframes manually instead of relying on auto-reframe.

Requirements

Proven experience editing short-form vertical content (YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Reels)
Strong skills in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Final Cut, or similar
Good understanding of pacing, hooks, and what keeps viewers watching
Reliable, consistent, and good at meeting deadlines
Clear communication

Nice to have

Experience with family, lifestyle, or vlog content
Experience adding captions or text overlays
