About the Role

We're hiring a video editor to produce YouTube Shorts from clips of real public confrontations: the "Karen" genre of store, parking lot, neighbour and road rage arguments. For each Short you'll receive the clip, a 5-line narration script and the voiceover audio. You'll cut the clip into a vertical Short, place the voiceover, add animated captions, a title and our branded overlays, and upload it to our Google Drive. We're looking for someone to work with us on an ongoing basis.

Fast, clean, phone-first editing: the story is easy to follow, captions are accurate and readable, and every Short looks like part of the same channel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Trim each clip to 1.5–3 minutes so the story is clear: who started it, how it escalates and how it ends.
  • Frame it for vertical 9:16, with the clip in the centre and a blurred copy filling the background.
  • Place the 5 voiceover lines at their script timestamps and lower the clip's audio under them so both are clear.
  • Add word-by-word animated captions for both the clip's dialogue and the voiceover, using our caption style, and check every word.
  • Add the title banner, channel logo, camera-frame overlay and a credit to the original filmer, plus circles and arrows on key moments.
  • Mute or bleep slurs and strong swearing following our guide.
  • Export to our settings and upload the finished Shorts to our shared Google Drive folder each day.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Examples of vertical Shorts, TikToks or Reels you edited yourself, with animated captions, and an explanation of what you did on each.
  • Strong English comprehension for checking captions against fast, heated speech.
  • Confidence with your editing software (CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar), including caption animation and audio ducking.
  • Consistency. You can follow a template so every Short matches.
  • Comfort working with heated arguments, some with swearing and offensive language.
  • A reliable computer and internet connection for daily exports and uploads.

Workload: 2–3 Shorts per working day. Clips, scripts, voiceovers and templates are supplied.

Turnaround: Daily batches; delivery times will be agreed with the team.

HOW TO APPLY

Start your application with the word "mango" and include:

1. Your email address

2. Your portfolio link

3. Links to 2–3 vertical videos you edited with animated captions, and what you did on each

5. The editing software you use

6. Your expected rate (per Short or per month)

7. The hours you can work each day

8. Your ---------- username (if you have it)

Applications that skip the code word or any of items 1–7 won't be reviewed.
