# Professional Voice Training Specialist / Vocal Coach — One-on-One Remote Training
Confidential employer
Remote | One-on-One Training | Professional Voice Development
I am looking for an experienced professional voice training specialist / vocal coach to work with me one-on-one remotely.
My goal is to improve my voice as much as realistically possible — including making it clearer, stronger, more pleasant, better controlled, more confident, and more professional-sounding.
This is NOT simply a singing teacher position.
I am specifically looking for someone who understands the voice itself and can professionally assess and train an individual's voice.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
You should have strong professional knowledge and experience in areas such as:
- Vocal training and voice development
- Vocal and throat anatomy
- Breathing and breath support
- Vocal production
- Resonance
- Projection
- Pitch and pitch control
- Tone and vocal quality
- Articulation and clarity
- Vocal placement
- Voice strength and control
- Proper vocal technique
- Identifying weaknesses in a person's voice
- Creating exercises specifically for an individual's needs
You should be able to listen carefully to my voice, identify what can be improved, explain what is happening, and create a structured training program to work on it.
I am looking for someone who can determine what is actually limiting the quality of my voice and then develop exercises and techniques specifically for those areas.
REMOTE ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING
Training will be conducted remotely through live video sessions.
You should be comfortable:
- Demonstrating exercises through video
- Listening carefully to my voice
- Watching my technique
- Correcting me in real time
- Explaining exactly what I am doing incorrectly
- Demonstrating the correct technique
- Having me repeat an exercise until I understand it
- Giving me exercises to practice between sessions
- Tracking my progress from session to session
I am looking for a personalized training program, not a generic lesson plan.
If there are certain things that genuinely require an in-person professional, I can arrange that separately locally. The primary training will be done remotely.
IMPORTANT — REMOTE AUDIO QUALITY & VOICE ASSESSMENT
Because this is voice training, being able to accurately hear my voice is extremely important.
I am not looking for someone who simply knows how to conduct a Zoom call.
You should understand the limitations of remote voice training and know how to get the clearest and most accurate representation of the voice possible through technology.
You should be able to recommend the best setup for our sessions, including:
- Which platform you recommend for voice training — Zoom, Google Meet, Skype , or another platform — and why
- What type of microphone you recommend
- Whether I should use headphones or a headset
- How I should position myself in relation to the microphone
- What audio settings you recommend
- Whether any platform features such as noise suppression, echo cancellation, automatic gain control, compression, or other audio processing could interfere with accurately evaluating the voice
- Whether any settings should be changed or disabled during voice training
- Whether you recommend live sessions alone or also using high-quality voice recordings
- What type of recordings you would want me to provide before our first session
- How you distinguish actual characteristics of my voice from artifacts caused by the microphone, room, software, or internet connection
I want you to be able to hear my actual voice.
If you believe another platform or setup would allow you to evaluate the voice more accurately than standard Zoom settings, tell me what you recommend and why.
You should have a thoughtful answer to this rather than simply saying, "Zoom is fine."
VIDEO TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am particularly interested in seeing how you actually teach, not just hearing about your qualifications.
If available, please provide a short video of yourself actually teaching or coaching someone's voice.
I would especially like to see how you:
- Listen to a student's voice
- Identify a problem
- Explain what you hear
- Demonstrate an exercise
- Correct the student
- Give feedback
- Adjust your approach based on the individual student
A singing performance or promotional video is not as useful to me as a video showing you actually teaching.
If you do not have a teaching video available, please explain your previous experience conducting one-on-one voice training.
WHAT I EXPECT FROM THE TRAINING
I want the training to be structured and progressive.
I would like you to:
1. Assess my current voice
2. Identify the main areas that need improvement
3. Explain what you are hearing and why it matters
4. Establish specific goals
5. Create exercises for those areas
6. Teach me how to perform the exercises correctly
7. Give me a practice routine between sessions
8. Monitor my progress
9. Adjust the exercises as my voice develops
10. Help me build better control and consistency over time
I am interested in actual voice development, not simply being told to "speak with confidence."
IMPORTANT
I am looking for a professional, not someone who simply enjoys singing or has casual experience.
Professional voice coaching, vocal training, singing instruction, speech/voice training, or related professional experience is strongly preferred.
A strong understanding of vocal/throat anatomy and how the voice physically works is particularly important.
You should also be able to explain the reason behind the exercises you recommend.
If you recommend an exercise, I want to understand what it is intended to change or improve.
EXPERIENCE
Please tell me:
- How many years you have professionally trained voices
- What type of clients/students you normally work with
- Your professional qualifications or training
- Whether you specialize in singing, speaking voice, vocal development, or multiple areas
- Your experience conducting voice training remotely
- Your experience specifically using video sessions
- Your experience assessing voices through microphones/remote audio
- Any particularly difficult voice-development cases you have successfully worked with
- Whether you have experience creating individualized voice-training programs
