Creative Social Media & Content VA

Job Purpose

House of Hair Hostess is an established, premium hair salon based in Solihull, near Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
We specialise in expert hair colour transformations, including Grey Blending, Colour Correction, Balayage and beautiful, personalised colour services.
We are looking for a talented, creative and proactive Social Media & Content Virtual Assistant to help bring our salon's stories, expertise and personality to life online.
Our salon owner regularly creates videos, takes photographs and shares ideas through voice notes.
Your role will be to take these raw materials and transform them into beautiful, engaging and professional social media content.

We want someone who understands storytelling, branding, visual design and how to create content that connects emotionally with potential clients.
This is not simply a Canva design role. We want someone who can think creatively, interpret ideas and take initiative.
Job Description

The VA will be responsible for:

*Creating engaging Instagram Reels, Stories, carousels and social media graphics.
*Editing raw salon videos and client transformation footage into polished, professional content using CapCut or similar software.
*Turning voice notes and creative ideas from the salon owner into engaging captions, Stories and social media posts.
*Writing compelling hooks, emotionally engaging storytelling captions and clear calls to action that encourage enquiries and bookings.
*Designing professional, visually consistent graphics using Canva and our established brand guidelines.

*Creating content that showcases our specialist services, salon expertise, client transformations and behind the scenes experiences.
*Planning and organising a simple weekly content calendar.
*Preparing and scheduling approved social media content when required.
*Researching relevant Instagram trends, creative ideas and content formats suitable for a premium hair salon.
*Supporting occasional promotional campaigns, website graphics, flyers, event materials and other branded marketing assets.
*Maintaining an organised library of photographs, videos, templates and completed content.
*Understanding our brand values, target audience and business goals.
*Communicating regularly with the salon owner, providing progress updates and meeting agreed deadlines.
*Suggesting creative ideas and improvements to help grow our online presence.
*Supporting lead generation through engaging content and effective calls to action.
*Helping review basic content performance to identify what works best.
*Additional skills that would be an advantage:
*Experience with ManyChat, Instagram automation, email marketing, Meta Ads and simple website graphics would be beneficial, but are not essential.
Job Qualifications

The VA should:

Have previous experience creating social media content for businesses, ideally in beauty, hair, wellness or luxury lifestyle.
Be highly proficient in Canva.
Have strong video editing skills using CapCut or similar software.
Have excellent written English, spelling and grammar, with the ability to write naturally for a UK audience.
Understand Instagram Reels, Stories, carousels and social media best practices.
Have a strong understanding of storytelling, engaging captions and customer psychology.
Have a good eye for sophisticated, premium branding and design.
Be able to interpret voice notes and creative instructions without requiring detailed written briefs.
Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
Have excellent attention to detail.

Be proactive, resourceful and confident suggesting new ideas.
Be comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions.
Be willing to learn about our specialist hair services and brand identity.
Have experience working remotely and communicating effectively with clients.
Be able to provide examples of previous social media content, video editing and graphic design work.

Our Working Arrangement:
This position will initially be 5 hours per week, with the potential to increase as the role develops.

We are looking for someone who can work efficiently, communicate regularly and deliver high quality creative work within agreed deadlines.

You will receive photographs, videos, voice notes and content ideas from the salon owner.

You will be responsible for transforming these materials into polished content ready for review and approval.
