About the Project

We are a growing U.S. commercial insurance company building proprietary technology to automate insurance sales and prospecting.

We maintain a database of 350,000–400,000 trucking companies and need an experienced Python developer to build an automated monitoring system using official FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) data.

This is a hands-on development position, not a virtual assistant or no-code-only role.

What You Will Build

A system that:

• Automatically retrieves updated FMCSA insurance and operating authority data daily.
• Detects insurance carrier changes, cancellation/replacement filings, and authority status changes.
• Matches those changes to companies in our existing database using USDOT/MC numbers.
• Stores historical records and prevents duplicate alerts.
• Sends important updates and follow-up tasks into Zoho CRM.
• Uses n8n for workflow automation.
• Produces a simple daily monitoring report.

Where It Will Live

• Zoho CRM: Alerts, tasks, and dashboards.
• Python + PostgreSQL: Data processing, matching, and historical records.
• n8n: Scheduling and automation.
• Cloud hosting: Company-owned cloud account.
• GitHub: Company-owned source code.

Required Skills

• Strong Python and SQL/PostgreSQL.
• REST API and data integration experience.
• ETL/data pipeline development.
• Zoho CRM API integration or comparable CRM experience.
• n8n automation.
• Experience handling large datasets.
