  • Optimise page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, internal links and image alt text.
  • Review and improve service pages, location pages and blog content.
  • Identify content gaps and prepare clear content briefs or write SEO-friendly copy.
  • Perform competitor research and regular website audits.
  • Identify technical issues affecting crawling, indexing, mobile usability and page speed, and coordinate fixes with developers where needed.
  • Monitor broken links, redirects, duplicate content, sitemaps and structured data.

Google Business Profile and local SEO

  • Manage and optimise four Google Business Profiles, keeping business information, services, categories, hours and photos accurate.
  • Publish relevant updates and posts.
  • Monitor and respond professionally to customer reviews and questions.
  • Maintain consistent business names, addresses and phone numbers across websites and local directories.
  • Identify relevant citation and local link opportunities.
  • Track local rankings, profile performance, website visits, calls and customer enquiries.
  • Follow Google’s policies when managing profiles and implementing SEO activities.

Reporting and communication

  • Send a daily report
  • Monitor performance using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and relevant SEO tools.
  • Provide clear monthly reports covering results, completed work, issues and next priorities.
  • Manage tasks and priorities across all four websites and profiles.
  • Communicate regularly with management, content writers and developers.
  • Occasionally answer incoming customer phone calls when required, respond politely to basic enquiries and pass accurate messages to the appropriate team member.

Required experience and skills

  • At least 2–3 years of hands-on SEO experience, with demonstrated results.
  • Strong experience with local SEO, on-page SEO and Google Business Profile management.
  • Confident keyword research skills, including search intent, keyword mapping and competitor analysis.
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO and the ability to explain issues clearly.
  • Experience using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console and tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog or similar.
  • Experience updating websites through WordPress or a similar content management system.
  • Strong written and spoken English, including a professional and friendly phone manner.
  • Ability to write and edit clear, useful website content.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and meet deadlines.
  • A practical understanding of how SEO supports customer enquiries and business growth.

Desirable skills

  • Experience managing multiple websites or business locations.
  • Basic HTML, CSS and structured data knowledge.
  • Experience with conversion optimisation, call tracking and lead tracking.
  • Familiarity with review management and customer service.
  • Ability to work with designers and developers to implement improvements.

What success looks like

  • Accurate, well-maintained websites and Google Business Profiles.
  • Improved visibility for relevant service and location searches.
