Job type: Part-time, ongoing, retainer style. Remote.
Hours: Flexible and async, with an agreed response time (normally a reply within one business day, faster when a letter is urgent).
Description: We are a US creative studio and online business, and we need a licensed Philippine attorney in our corner for professional legal correspondence and counsel. A big part of the role is simple and powerful: when the business needs a firm, proper letter, it comes from a real lawyer, from your own attorney email account, on your letterhead where appropriate.
What you will do:
- Draft and send firm, professional legal correspondence: demand letters, payment and collections follow-ups, cease and desist letters, and contract breach notices
- Review and draft contracts and agreements for the business
- Advise on Philippine law and cross-border business matters
- Keep every letter accurate, documented, and professional: verify the facts before sending, keep copies of everything, and track deadlines and replies
Who this is for: a licensed Philippine attorney with excellent written English who communicates clearly and responds reliably.
Scope, stated plainly: this role covers correspondence, drafting, and Philippine-side counsel. Matters that require a US-licensed attorney (US court filings, US representation) stay with US counsel.
Requirements:
- Licensed Philippine attorney, member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines
- Excellent written English; your letters represent the business
- Experience with demand letters, collections, or commercial correspondence
- Your own professional attorney email account and letterhead for correspondence
- Responsive, organized, and careful with records and confidentiality
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience advising US or other foreign clients
- Contract drafting and review experience for online or creative businesses
- Intellectual property or internet business familiarity
