About the Role

Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week), long-term
Pay: USD $1,200–$2,500/month depending on skill and portfolio, plus bonuses for outstanding work

About us
We’re a game technology startup building an AI-first game engine. Our first title is a fast first-person shooter in the style of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2/3. We need a talented artist to build our in-house library of first-person weapons, arms and animations.

What you’ll do

Build first-person arms: realistic gloves and sleeves, a clean game-ready rig, natural hand and finger poses.
Model and texture game-ready weapons: pistols, rifles, SMGs, shotguns, snipers and melee, with separate moving parts (magazine, slide, bolt, pump).
Animate first-person weapon actions: idle, aim down sights, fire and recoil, tactical reload, empty reload (with slide or charging handle), inspect, draw and holster, sprint, and melee swings.
Work to our technical spec (rig, naming, attachment points, file formats) and deliver clean FBX/GLB plus source .blend/.ma files.
Take feedback and iterate quickly. We review every delivery in-engine.

Must have

A strong portfolio of first-person (FPS) viewmodel work: arms holding weapons, reloads, inspects.
An excellent eye for hand and finger contact: thumbs wrapped, no clipping, no floating fingers, natural grip.
Blender or Maya (rigging, animation, hard-surface modelling, PBR texturing; Substance Painter is a plus).
Good English communication and reliable daily availability with some overlap with Australian hours.

Nice to have

Shipped FPS game, mod or Unreal/Unity weapon pack experience.
Game-optimised modelling: low/high-poly baking, LODs, texture budgets.
Experience with procedural or modular weapon systems (attachments, gunsmith).

Important: ownership
All work is made from scratch for us, with no marketplace assets and no AI-generated meshes. Full copyright and IP are assigned to our company.

How to apply (applications without a Drive link will not be reviewed)
Send us one Google Drive link (set to “Anyone with the link can view”) containing:

Videos of your first-person weapon animations, especially reloads and inspects (MP4, screen recordings are fine).
Screenshots or renders of first-person arms holding weapons, with close-ups of the hands and grip.
Any weapon models you’ve made: wireframes, renders, texture sheets.
(Optional) A source file or two (.blend/.ma/.fbx) so we can check your rig and animation quality.
A short note: your experience, the software you use, your monthly rate, and when you can start.

Start your application with the words “CLEAN GRIP” so we know you read this ad.

Next step: shortlisted applicants get a paid test task: a small first-person rifle grip plus reload in our spec. The best test gets the full-time role.
