Software Developer, Internal Tools (React / TypeScript)
Confidential employer
ABOUT US
We're a US commercial real estate investment firm. Our small team has built an internal web platform that our acquisitions, property management and accounting staff use every day. We're looking for a developer to help us build more of it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and improve internal web tools, dashboards and automations
- Fix bugs and trace problems from the data through to the screen
- Use AI coding tools, and check and test what they produce before you hand it over
- Write clear setup notes and documentation for what you build
- Submit all changes for our review before anything goes live
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Real experience building working web apps that a business uses
- React and TypeScript (preferred). Supabase or PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools like Claude, and able to explain and fix the code they write
- Clear written English, and willing to ask questions when something is unclear
- Real estate knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement
HOURS AND PAY
- Full time, about 40 hours a week
- At least 4 hours a day overlapping with US Eastern time (9am to 1pm Eastern)
- Around $1,200 USD per month to start, with some room for the right person
- Paid monthly, as an independent contractor
- Start date: mid-November 2026
OUR HIRING PROCESS
1. Apply with the questions below.
2. A short video call.
3. Finalists get a paid coding project ($75), about 3 to 4 hours, using made-up sample data. AI tools are allowed.
4. A 20-minute call to walk us through your project and make one small change live.
TO APPLY, PLEASE:
1. Put the word CALENDAR at the top of your message.
2. Share your resume and one or two examples of things you built. Tell us exactly what part you did.
3. In a few sentences: a monthly maintenance task was last done on January 31. A manager says the app shows the wrong next due date. What would you check before changing the code?
4. Describe one time an AI coding tool gave you wrong code, and how you caught it.
5. Tell us your earliest start date, the hours you can overlap with US Eastern time, and your expected monthly pay.
