HOW THE $10 PAID TEST WORKS:
I’m looking for a few long-term editors for my tech brand. Here is how we’re choosing the right person:
Apply first: Send over your 1 or 2 links of your BEST work and complete the anime question above.
Top candidates will get DM'd: I will review applications and pick the top candidates to complete a test edit. If selected, I will send you a DM to confirm.
Get paid $10: The selected candidates will edit a short video (details below) and get paid $10 USD via PayPal upon submitting their draft.
Land the role: The candidates who deliver the best final edit will be selected for future projects!
You will have 3 full days to finish the test edit once selected, so no need to rush.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Software: High proficiency in video editing and short form content (DaVinci Resolve preferred) Should be well-versed in speed ramping, smooth cuts, clean audio, kinetic captions, dynamic zooms.
Tech Knowledge: You know basic PC and networking gear (you know what a Mesh Router or an M.2 SSD looks like).
THE TEST EDIT INSTRUCTIONS:
You’ll be editing a single vertical video (9:16) on how to repair a Dell Laptop.
Watch everything first: Look through all raw clips in Google Drive before you start cutting to come up with a sense of storytelling.
NO Background Music: Do NOT add any music tracks to this edit.
Voiceover Prompts: If a clip is silent or needs context, feel free to add on-screen captions showing exact text I should speak for a voiceover later.
Story Arc:
Hook: Grab attention in the first 3 seconds. Possibly use an open-loop?
Problem: Show the frustration of slow Wi-Fi speeds and walking through the setup.
Payoff: End on a fun/humorous note with the solution.
The Extra 10% Polish:
Bold, easy-to-read captions (similar to Hormozi).
Subtle sound effects (SFX) for clicks and cuts.
Slow zooms in/out on still shots to keep the screen moving.
For still shots, subtle camera movements or face tracking to keep audience engaged.
