EXPERIENCED EDITOR, LONG-TERM FREELANCE
Confidential employer
PLEASE READ ALL REQUIREMENTS BEFORE APPLYING
We're looking for an experienced, dependable editor for consistent weekly work, with opportunities to grow into a larger creative role.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- English: C2 (Mastery) or native/bilingual proficiency. Excellent comprehension of conversational English, humor, and nuance. Proof is required.
- Experience: Proven podcast or spoken-audio editing experience, including precise dialogue cuts, crossfades, and seamless, natural-sounding transitions.
- Software: Experience with DaVinci Resolve or comparable professional editing software. CapCut-only experience does not qualify.
- Reliability: Verifiable history of consistent, on-time delivery and long-term client relationships.
OUR CONTENT
Astrology, tarot, spirituality, energy work, sound healing, and other esoteric or pseudoscientific subjects. You must be comfortable engaging with the material, understanding its meaning, and eventually contributing creative ideas. If you are uncomfortable or unsure, do not apply.
This is not an entry-level position. Applicants who cannot demonstrate these qualifications should not apply.
WORK & DEADLINES
You'll receive 1–2 videos weekly, typically 20–30 minutes each, edited in DaVinci Resolve (free version).
Initial work involves removing filler words, mistakes, unnecessary pauses, and distracting breaths while preserving natural speech.
Detailed instructions and examples are provided for our specific workflow.
- 1 video: 24-hour turnaround
- 2 videos: 48-hour turnaround
Assignments are communicated in advance, typically midweek. Deadlines begin when complete project files are provided.
PAYMENT & QUALITY STANDARDS
Paid trial: $20 for one 20–30-minute video.
Following a successful trial, audio-only editing is paid according to the accuracy of the original submission:
- 0–4 revision notes: $40 per video
- 5–20 revision notes: $30 per video
- 21+ revision notes: $20 per video
ASSIGNMENT & PAYMENT PROCESS
1. Submit: Review your work before delivery. Submit an invoice for the $20 base payment.
2. Review: We evaluate your submission within 2–4 calendar days and identify editing errors.
3. Improve: You'll receive your original edit alongside our finalized version. Study the differences, email a brief summary of what you learned, and invoice for any remaining quality bonus based on feedback marks.
4. Final payment: The quality bonus is paid after your review acknowledgment, based on the original submission's accuracy.
LATE DELIVERY DEDUCTIONS (BONUSES ONLY)
- Up to 5 hours late: $5 deduction
- 12 hours late: $10 deduction
- Over 24 hours late: No bonus; $20 base only
Revision notes count errors or missed instructions, not new creative requests. Repeated mistakes, missed deadlines, or failure to demonstrate improvement may result in ending the working relationship. We do not accommodate repeated mistakes.
LONG-TERM GROWTH
As quality and independence improve, responsibilities may expand to include:
- Sound effects, GIFs, text, and humor
- Animations, visuals, and creative storytelling
- Complete video editing from start to finish
- Thumbnail/cover art creation
- Shorts, scriptwriting, and other creative projects
EARNING POTENTIAL
- Up to $150 per two-video assignment for complete video editing with minimal revisions.
- Up to $250 per weekly assignment (approximately $1,000 per month) with additional production responsibilities as trust grows.
Advancement depends on consistent quality, reliability, and independence.
TO APPLY — ANSWER ALL FOUR QUESTIONS

2. English: Confirm your C2 or native/bilingual proficiency and provide supporting evidence.
3. Experience: Share examples of podcast or spoken-audio editing you've personally completed, specifying your responsibilities and software used.
4. Content compatibility: Explain your familiarity with our content genres and why you're comfortable working with them regularly, including contributing creative ideas.
