About the Role

Part-Time | Starting at 5-10 Hours/Week | Long-Term Growth Opportunity

I am looking for a creative, proactive Social Media Content Manager & Video Editor to help manage and grow two very different social media accounts: a monetized personal Facebook profile and a custom apparel/embroidery business.

This position will begin with a 30-day paid trial at approximately 5 hours per week. The workload during the trial will be intentionally limited while we determine if we are a good fit.

If the trial goes well, I fully expect the number of hours per week to increase, along with the level of responsibility. I am looking for someone who can potentially become a long-term part of my businesses, not someone for a short-term project.

Starting pay: $6–$8 USD/hour, depending on experience and skill pay could be more or less

This Is NOT a Basic VA Position

I am not looking for someone who needs me to provide a detailed task list every day.

I need someone who can look at the content and data, think independently and tell me:

What is working

What isn't working

What we should do more of

What we should stop doing

What content opportunities I may be missing

What we should test next

If you see something in the analytics that I don't see, I want you to tell me.

Strong Facebook /Meta analytics and dashboard experience is very important for this position.

ACCOUNT #1: Monetized Personal Facebook Profile

My personal Facebook profile is already monetized and growing.

The content is personality-driven and includes family/life, humor, parenting, business ownership, golf, stories and everyday experiences.

I will remain involved in the creative direction and final voice of this account because the content needs to authentically sound like me.

I will provide raw video, photos, stories and ideas.

You will help:

Turn raw video into engaging short-form Reels

Find the strongest moments within longer videos

Create strong hooks

Edit for pacing and viewer retention

Add captions and on-screen text

Repurpose existing content when appropriate

Help identify content opportunities from the material I provide

Review Facebook Professional Dashboard ----------

Track views, reach, engagement, retention/watch time, distribution, follower growth and monetization performance

Identify patterns between high- and low-performing content

Recommend new content or strategies based on actual performance

I don't need generic advice such as "post consistently."

I want someone who can look at the actual dashboard and say, "This is interesting. Here's what happened, here's what I think it means, and here's what I think we should try next."

ACCOUNT #2: Custom Apparel & Embroidery Business

I want to be considerably more hands-off with this account.

I own a custom apparel/embroidery business and regularly have photos and video of products, embroidery, behind-the-scenes work, customer orders and other content.

I want to be able to provide you with a large amount of raw video and photos and have you determine how to turn that material into good social media content.

Responsibilities may include:

Creating and editing Reels

Creating photo/product posts

Writing captions and hooks

Selecting the best footage and photos to use

Repurposing content

Planning content

Scheduling/publishing approved content

Creating content around products, promotions and seasonal opportunities

Reviewing account performance

Recommending what we should create next

The long-term goal is for me to be able to upload raw photos/video and trust you to turn them into a consistent, effective social media presence without needing daily direction from me.

Skills I'm Looking For

Strong experience with:

Facebook and Meta social media management

Facebook Professional Dashboard and/or Meta Business Suite

Short-form video editing

Reels

Hooks and viewer retention

Organic social media growth

Social media analytics

Content planning

Canva or similar design tools

CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or similar video-editing software

Facebook experience is particularly important.

This is not primarily an Instagram-aesthetic position. I want someone who understands Facebook content, audience behavior, distribution and analytics.

The Most Important Thing: Be Proactive

I value someone who takes initiative.

If a certain style of Reel is outperforming everything else, tell me.

If viewers are dropping off at the beginning of our videos, tell me.

If something I think is a good idea isn't working, tell me.

If you see an opportunity I haven't noticed, bring it to me.

I want someone comfortable giving recommendations and respectfully disagreeing with me when the data supports it.

I am looking for a combination of:

Video Editor + Content Creator + Social Media Manager + Analytical Thinker

You do not need to know everything on day one. I care about creativity, curiosity, reliability and your ability to learn and think independently.

Hours & Long-Term Opportunity

The position will begin with a 30-day paid trial at approximately 5 hours per week.

I do NOT expect the entire scope described above to be completed in five hours every week during the trial. We will prioritize the most important work while learning how well we work together.

If the 30-day trial is successful, I expect to increase the weekly hours.

There is significant opportunity for this role to grow as you take more responsibility for content creation and management.

I would much rather find one excellent person, build a long-term working relationship and increase their responsibilities over time than continually hire different freelancers.
