WordPress Developer | Divi & Elementor Expert | Part-Time, As Needed
Confidential employer
We are looking for an experienced, reliable WordPress developer to assist with ongoing website maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and occasional new page development across multiple websites.
THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION. Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis, ranging from quick updates and minor fixes to occasional larger projects.
We are specifically looking for someone who is highly experienced with DIVI AND ELEMENTOR and understands how to build and maintain websites using their native visual builders, modules, and theme functionality.
WE DO NOT WANT WEBSITES BUILT ENTIRELY WITH CUSTOM CODE when the same functionality can be achieved through Divi or Elementor. Our team must be able to easily access, edit, and maintain website content without needing a developer for every small change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and update multiple WordPress websites.
- Build and modify pages using Divi Builder and Elementor.
- Troubleshoot WordPress errors, plugin conflicts, layout issues, and visual builder loading problems.
- Make small website updates, including text, images, links, menus, and formatting.
- Create new pages using existing designs and templates.
- Ensure websites are responsive and display correctly across desktop and mobile devices.
- Improve website performance and resolve technical issues as needed.
- Use existing theme functionality and plugins whenever practical rather than unnecessary custom coding.
- Ensure all completed work remains easily editable through the WordPress dashboard.
- Communicate clearly regarding task status, estimated completion times, and any issues encountered.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- STRONG EXPERIENCE WITH WORDPRESS, DIVI, AND ELEMENTOR IS REQUIRED.
- Excellent understanding of the Divi Visual Builder and Elementor page editor.
- Ability to troubleshoot WordPress issues independently.
- Experience with WordPress hosting, cPanel, plugins, and website backups.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript for situations where custom code is genuinely necessary.
- Ability to work within existing websites without unnecessarily rebuilding pages or changing established designs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good written English and responsive communication.
- Ability to complete small tasks efficiently and accurately.
IMPORTANT: TIME TRACKING & BILLING EXPECTATIONS
We place a high priority on HONEST, ACCURATE, AND TRANSPARENT HOURLY BILLING.
Because this position involves frequent small tasks, we need a developer who is comfortable tracking and billing only for the actual time spent working. THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME, 12-HOUR-A-DAY ROLE.
Our expectations include:
- ACCURATE TIME TRACKING: All hours billed must reflect actual time worked on assigned tasks.
- NO MINIMUM-HOUR BILLING: A task that takes 15 minutes should be billed for 15 minutes, not rounded up to an hour.
- ITEMIZED TIME REPORTING: Invoices must clearly identify the tasks completed and the time spent on each.
- EFFICIENCY: We expect an experienced developer to complete routine WordPress updates and fixes in a reasonable amount of time.
- PRIOR APPROVAL: Larger tasks or work requiring significant additional time must be discussed and approved before proceeding.
- NO GUARANTEED HOURS: Work is assigned only when needed. There may be periods with multiple tasks and others with little or no work.
We are looking for a long-term working relationship built on trust, efficiency, and billing transparency. ACCURATE TIME REPORTING IS A NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENT.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Our ideal developer is experienced enough to quickly identify and resolve WordPress issues without spending unnecessary hours troubleshooting basic problems.
You should be comfortable handling a 10-minute website update just as professionally as a larger development project.
We value developers who communicate proactively, respect our time and budget, and understand the importance of keeping websites manageable for nontechnical team members.
