Weโre looking for a senior Motion Graphic Designer who is highly skilled in generative, grid-based animation. Youโll start right away on one video, then support other videos in the same series through mid-November.
The style:
Flat, bold, and built entirely on a square grid. Everything snaps to it. There are no gradients, no 3D, no drop shadows and no organic motion.
- Generative tile scenes. Shapes like globes, waves and falling โdata rainโ are built from hundreds of tiny colored tiles, each holding a simple black glyph. The tiles fill in, ripple, scatter and resolve procedurally across the frame.
- Building blocks. Larger solid-color squares with black glyphs appear in growing sequences (small, medium, large), stack, and swap glyphs and colors as accents.
- Clean kinetic type. Medium-weight sans-serif headlines in sentence case on off-white or black backgrounds. Text animates with restraint: line-by-line reveals and clean swaps.
- Strict color system. One signature orange used with a set palette of brights and darks, in fixed ratios.
Level of difficulty: advanced.
This is technical motion work. A single scene can have hundreds of tiles animating at once, so it canโt be keyframed by hand. You need to build procedural setups in After Effects with particles, expressions or tile tools. Every tile has to stay locked to the grid, timing carries the piece, and the brand rules are strict.
Youโll animate from final storyboard frames. The designs are done, so the job is precise, polished execution, not redesigning.
This is a project-based role paid hourly, with flexibility based on project needs. Since youโll be working with sensitive, unreleased content, signing an NDA is required.
What Weโre Looking For
1. Procedural/generative animation. Proven experience animating large numbers of elements procedurally in After Effects
2. Grid-precise motion. Pixel-accurate animation that stays locked to a modular grid.
3. Advanced After Effects. Fast, organized and technical: expressions, precomps, clean project structure.
4. Shape-from-tiles builds. You can form recognizable shapes (globes, waves, icons) out of tile grids and animate them in and out cleanly.
5. Kinetic typography. Minimal, well-timed text animation without flashy effects.
6. Following brand rules. You can work within a detailed brand style guide and stick to it.
7. Storyboard-to-motion. You build from final frames faithfully and know where motion adds clarity.
8. Speed under deadline. Quick revisions and steady output through mid-November.
9. Remote collaboration. Clear, responsive communication with an international team.
10. Reliable setup and confidentiality. A capable rendering machine, stable internet, and full discretion with unreleased work.
