Full-Time HR & Compliance Specialist (Policies, Onboarding & Team Support)
Confidential employer
Full-Time HR & Compliance Specialist
We're a fast-growing AI training company with a remote team made up mostly of independent contractors in the Philippines, the United States, and Jamaica. As we grow, we're investing in strong HR foundations and want to make sure everything is set up correctly and built to scale.
We're looking for an organized, compliance-minded HR Specialist to own and develop the policies, processes, and systems that support our team.
As an AI training company, we practice what we preach — we expect and encourage you to use AI tools to work smarter and faster.
What You'll Be Doing
Compliance & Policies (primary focus)
- Reviewing our HR needs and leading the rollout of policies, documentation, and processes
- Developing and maintaining core HR policies — contractor handbook, code of conduct, confidentiality, time off, remote work, data privacy, and AI use
- Ensuring contractor agreements are complete, consistent, compliant, and properly filed
- Keeping our contractor setup compliant across the Philippines, US, and Jamaica, including proper contractor classification
- Maintaining organized, audit-ready team records and documentation
- Writing clear SOPs so our HR processes are repeatable as we grow
Onboarding
- Owning onboarding for new contractors — from offer to day one through their first 30 days
- Preparing agreements, welcome documents, policy acknowledgments, and onboarding checklists
- Coordinating tool and account access with team leads
- Continually improving onboarding templates and processes
Team Support
- Conducting regular check-ins with team members and flagging concerns early
- Supporting performance reviews — scheduling, gathering feedback, and following up
- Communicating policies and updates clearly to the team
- Being a friendly, trusted point of contact for team questions
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of HR experience, with hands-on work in policies, compliance, or HR documentation
- Experience building HR from scratch at a startup or growing company
- Experience working with independent contractors, including contractor agreements and classification
- Knowledge of contractor and labor practices in the Philippines, US, and Jamaica
- Confident, everyday use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for drafting, research, and automation
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information
- Comfortable with Google Workspace and project management tools
- Able to work independently and take ownership
Position Details
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- $900–$1,300/month, depending on experience
- Remote, long-term role
- Flexible schedule with some overlap with US hours
