The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of professional content writing experience, preferably in the legal and/or financial sectors, with excellent English writing skills and a strong understanding of SEO.

We need someone who can produce well-researched, engaging, authoritative and naturally written content that sounds genuinely human, not AI-generated.

You will work closely with our SEO Manager, Technical & On-Page SEO Specialist, and Social Media Team.

  • Create informative guest posts for backlink building and digital PR campaigns.
  • Write engaging Google Business Profile (GBP) posts.
  • Develop social media content, captions and carousel copy for Facebook , Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Prepare scripts for YouTube and FB videos, Shorts and Reels.
  • Refresh and improve existing content based on SEO performance and changes in industry regulations.

Conduct keyword research, understand search intent and incorporate relevant keywords naturally.

  • Apply Google's E-E-A-T principles and structure content for SEO, AI-powered search and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).
  • Collaborate with the SEO Manager on content calendars, briefs and editorial planning.
  • Work with the SEO Specialists on content optimisation, internal linking and website publishing.
  • Research and fact-check information using reliable government, legal and financial industry sources.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional content writing experience.
  • Proven experience writing for legal and/or financial services businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written English, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO writing, keyword optimisation, content structure and search intent.
  • Experience writing long-form articles, website service pages, guest posts and social media content.
  • Ability to simplify complex legal and financial topics into clear, engaging content.
  • Familiarity with New Zealand or Australian audiences is an advantage.
  • Strong research skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write original, credible, human-sounding content without relying heavily on AI.

Preferred Skills & Tools

  • SEO: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Ubersuggest, Google Search Console
  • Content Management: WordPress, Rank Math SEO
  • Writing & Editing: Grammarly, Hemingway Editor, Google Docs
  • AI Tools: ChatGPT, Claude and other AI-assisted research tools
  • Project Management: ClickUp or similar platforms

Important: Our Approach to AI Content

We encourage the responsible use of AI tools for research, brainstorming and productivity. However, we do not accept generic, unverified or minimally edited AI-generated content.

All content must be original, thoroughly researched, factually accurate, naturally written and genuinely valuable to readers.

What We Offer

  • Long-term, stable remote employment
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Opportunity to work with professional services businesses in NZ and Australia
  • Collaborative SEO and digital marketing team
  • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development
