Operations Lead – Trade Operations & Customs Compliance (Part-time, Remote)

Type: Part-time, 15 hours per week
Wage: USD 5–7 per hour, depending on experience, plus milestone bonuses
Contract: Independent contractor. Paid test task first. During the first month, either party can end the contract immediately. After that, the contract runs until 31 January 2027 with the option to extend, and either party can end it at any time with 14 days' notice.
Hours: Flexible, with at least 3 hours overlap with Dutch office hours (09:00–17:00 CET)

ABOUT CLAERITAS
Claeritas is a Dutch company that takes over customs and compliance work for companies trading through the Netherlands: declaration preparation in the client's own systems, shipment document checks, document follow-up, AEO monitoring and licence and deadline monitoring. We work with a fully remote team and are building our Trade Operations team now.

THE ROLE
You lead our Trade Operations team and our current project: a market test of our new services in November, followed by building out the winning service with our first clients. You report to the Strategic Director.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead a small remote team (business development, lead research, ads, content) and run the weekly rhythm
• Run our demand test: request handling, scorecard and weekly improvements
• Check and approve client scopes and quotes before they go out
• Join client calls for technical scoping
• Build our operations: work instructions (SOPs), templates, client onboarding and quality checklists
• Recruit and test specialists for our delivery team
• Coordinate website updates with our web builder
• Send a clear written report every Friday

WHAT YOU BRING

• 3+ years in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, import/export or trade compliance
• Experience leading projects or a small (remote) team
• Excellent written English; clear, structured reports
• Comfortable with a CRM (SuiteDash is a plus) and basic Google Analytics
• Calm, practical and reliable; you flag problems early
• A plus: knowledge of EU customs, AEO, or a Philippine customs broker licence
