You Tube Video Editor
Confidential employer
Team Rajpal, a Greater Toronto Area real estate team, in Pickering specifically is hiring a freelance video editor to produce at least one long-form YouTube video per week. Each video runs 15 to 30 minutes and is either a house tour, a market update or a community update.
This is a remote, ongoing contract. We want one reliable editor who learns our style and becomes part of our weekly content routine.
Scope of work
You will edit one finished video per week, rotating through three formats.
Format
-House Tour- Walkthrough of a listing
-Market Update- Agent/s on camera in front of a green screen explaining market trends- using supporting information
- Community Update- Tour of the community with specific area updates
Each week you will also deliver a custom thumbnail and, if requested, one or two short vertical clips cut from the main video for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
Style references
Please study these two channels before applying. We want our videos to match their pacing and polish.
- Market updates: Tom Storey (YouTube). Clear, data-driven talking-head videos. Tight cuts with no dead air, clean charts and stats on screen, and a strong hook in the first 30 seconds.
- House tours: Mark Salerno (Salerno Realty). Smooth, cinematic walkthroughs with steady pacing, colour grading, music that suits the home, and clean text for key features.
Community updates should blend the two: Tom Storey's clarity with Mark Salerno's visual quality.
Responsibilities
Editing
- Cut raw footage into a tight, engaging 15–30 minute video, removing pauses, mistakes and filler.
- Add b-roll, drone footage, music, sound design and colour correction.
- Build on-screen graphics: charts and stats for market updates, and address, price and feature callouts for house tours.
- Add Team Rajpal branding, including logo, intro, outro and contact details.
- Add accurate English captions.
YouTube channel support (when needed)
- Upload videos to our channel with titles, descriptions, tags and chapters.
- Upload thumbnails, add end screens and cards, and organise playlists by format.
- Schedule videos to publish at our set weekly time.
- Keep the channel tidy and consistent, and flag anything that needs our attention.
Requirements
Must have
- Excellent written and spoken English. You must catch errors in captions and on-screen text without being told.
- A portfolio of long-form YouTube videos (15+ minutes), ideally including real estate or talking-head content.
- Experience editing for the Canadian market, or the attention to detail to learn our standards (see below).
- Able to deliver within 24 hours of receiving footage.
- Experience uploading to and managing a YouTube channel, including titles, descriptions, thumbnails, playlists and scheduling.
- Professional editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- Reliable, responsive communication during Toronto business hours (Eastern Time).
Nice to have/BONUS
- Experience editing real estate content for Canadian agents.
- Motion graphics skills in After Effects or similar.
- YouTube SEO and thumbnail design skills.
Editing for the Canadian market
Our audience is Canadian buyers and sellers, so every video must look and sound Canadian, not American. Use this table as your checklist.
If you are unsure whether something is Canadian, ask before publishing.
Turnaround and weekly workflow
We aim for a first cut within 24 hours of sending footage, and a final version within 24 hours of our feedback.
1. Team Rajpal shares raw footage, notes and any listing or market data through Google Drive.
2. You deliver the first cut and a draft thumbnail within 24 hours.
3. We send one round of consolidated feedback.
4. You deliver the final video, thumbnail and any short clips within 24 hours.
5. If YouTube support is part of your role, you upload and schedule the video.
Tell us in advance about any days you are unavailable, so we can plan around them.
How to apply
Please send:
- Links to 2–3 long-form YouTube videos you edited, ideally real estate or talking-head content.
- Your rate per finished 15–30 minute video, and any monthly rate for four videos.
- Confirmation that you can meet a 24-hour turnaround, and your working hours in Eastern Time.
- A short note on your experience managing YouTube channels.
- One sentence on how editing for a Canadian audience differs from a US audience.
Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete one paid test edit.
