AI Automation Developer (Python, n8n, API Integrations, claude code)

WHO WE ARE
Nexus Digital is a digital transformation partner based in Melbourne, Australia, started by two brothers, Ryan and Cooper Lanyon. We help established businesses grow and maximise the productivity of their teams, without needing extra headcount, by building AI systems into their processes and workflows. We build everything with Claude Code, and we want someone who works the same way.

WHAT WE DO

• Workshops: hands-on AI workshops where business owners build working tools with us in the room
• In-person training: teaching teams to use and run AI in their day-to-day work
• Full custom builds: AI systems built into a company's operations. Assistants connected to their email , CRM, project tools and data, live dashboards, daily briefings, and automations that take hours of manual work off a team every week
• Ongoing support: we maintain and extend everything we build, so it keeps getting better month after month

We don't build demos or chatbots. Our systems run in production on servers we set up and secure ourselves, with approval steps on anything risky, and the client owns everything we build.

WHO WE WORK WITH
Established Australian businesses, typically 10 to 50 staff, in industries like transport and logistics, health, media and professional services, plus business owners who come through our workshops.

WHAT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW

• We just ran our first AI workshop with 16 business owners in the room, and it has already turned into partnerships
• We've partnered with a Melbourne brand agency whose clients' products sit on the shelves of Australia's biggest supermarkets. We're the AI team behind their campaigns
• We've partnered with an NDIS provider (Australia's disability support sector), and together we're launching our first software product, built to roll out to providers right across the country in a sector worth nearly $50 billion a year
• There's a pipeline of businesses lined up behind that, waiting for us to build for them

WHERE WE'RE HEADED
We're on a mission to help 1,000 Australian businesses implement and adopt AI, then train their teams to run it. We're growing faster than the two of us can build. Over the next few years we want Nexus Digital to be the name Australian businesses think of when they want AI that actually works in their operations, with our own products, a big client book and a full team of engineers delivering it. You would be the first engineer on that team, getting in on the ground floor. As it grows, the person in this seat is the one we want leading builds, setting the standards, and helping us hire the people who come next.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Turn manual business processes into automations that run every day
• Connect CRMs, email , calendars and project tools through their APIs and webhooks
• Move workflows from no-code tools into Python when they outgrow them
• Write tests and clear docs so non-technical people can use what you build
• Over time, own client builds end to end

YOU'VE DONE

• Claude Code as your daily tool: you plan the work, steer it, and review everything it writes before it ships
• Automations a real business relies on, in n8n, Make or Zapier, and in code
• Python scripts or services against REST APIs
• An LLM API (Claude or OpenAI) used inside a workflow
• Clear written and spoken English

NICE TO HAVE
MCP servers, Supabase, Linux servers

HOW WE WORK

• Systems over experiments. If it doesn't run reliably every day, it isn't finished.
• Security is part of the job. Our clients trust us with their business data, and we treat it that way.
• Clear over clever. Everything we build should make sense to the person who uses it.
• Honest over hype. If something won't work, we say so before we build it.
• A quick daily check-in with us on Slack, fast answers when you're stuck, and real ownership of your work.

TERMS
Full-time, 40 hours a week, 10am to 6pm Melbourne time (7am to 3pm Manila). USD 1,200 a month to start (negotiable) depending on experience, reviewed at 90 days, plus a bonus on every project delivered clean.
