Call a list of businesses for my laundromat
Confidential employer
Part-time Outbound Caller: local business calls for a Jacksonville, FL laundromat (Tuesday to Thursday, 9 AM to noon US Eastern)
About us
LaundroLab Jacksonville is a locally owned laundromat on Normandy Blvd in Jacksonville, Florida. Besides self-serve laundry, we pick up laundry from local businesses, wash, dry and fold it, and bring it back within 48 hours. A business's first order is free. We're a small local team, and we want our calls to sound like one local business talking to another, not a call center.
What you'll do
- Call local businesses from a call list in Google Sheets, working top to bottom. They include gyms and martial arts studios, auto detailers, cleaning companies, spas and massage studios, daycares, pet groomers, small hotels and event venues. Many of them have already received an email from us.
- Follow our call script and our notes on each type of business (provided). The goal of each call is to find the person who handles laundry and offer a free first order.
- When someone is interested, get their name, best phone number, what they need washed, roughly how much each week, and a good pickup day. Log it in the sheet and send Scott, one of the owners, a quick message the same day.
- When nobody answers, leave a short voi cemail .
- Log every call in the sheet: pick the outcome from the dropdown and add a one-line note.
- Watch our outreach inbox during your hours and reply quickly to businesses answering our email s, using a cheat sheet we provide. Fast replies matter.
A good day is about 30 to 35 calls, every one logged, plus quick replies to any email s that came in.
You'll introduce yourself by your first name as part of the LaundroLab team. You dial every call yourself, one at a time: no robocalls or autodialers. If anyone asks us not to contact them again, mark it in the sheet and we stop.
Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 AM to noon US Eastern Time. In the Philippines that's 10 PM to 1 AM from November to mid-March, and 9 PM to midnight the rest of the year. You'll report to Scott, with a check-in on Tuesday mornings to plan the week.
What we're looking for
- Clear, friendly spoken English.
- Experience cold calling or setting appointments with US businesses.
- Clear, quick written English for email replies.
- A quiet place to work, a reliable internet connection and a headset.
- Comfortable working in Google Sheets and Gmail.
- Nice to have: experience with local service businesses, or spoken Spanish.
What we provide
The call list, our call script and notes for each type of business, an email reply cheat sheet, access to our outreach inbox, and a training call before your first day.
Pay
$5 to $6 per hour depending on experience, paid in US dollars every two weeks. On top of that, $10 for each business that places its first order from a lead you logged. This is a part-time contractor role, starting with a 60-day contract, with the chance to extend if it's working well.
How to apply
Please send:
1. A voice recording of about 60 seconds, introducing yourself as if you were calling a gym owner about laundry pickup.
2. A few lines on your cold-calling experience and the kinds of businesses you've called.
3. Confirmation that you can work Tuesday to Thursday, 9 AM to noon US Eastern Time.
Please start your message with the word "Normandy" so we know you read the whole post.
