About the Role

About us
Coastal Pacific Dermatology is a busy independent dermatology and skin cancer surgery practice in Southern California. Our remote team in the Philippines already handles faxes, insurance, and operations, and we’re adding a new role: the voice and face of the practice for our patients.

The role
You’ll be our patients’ main point of contact, checking them out by video at the end of their visit and answering our phones. Warmth, clear communication, and fluent English matter more than anything else.

Important: this is a camera-on position. You’ll be live on video, visible to patients, for your entire shift. Please only apply if you’re comfortable being on camera all day.

Daily duties:

Join patients by video in the exam room at the end of their visit
Schedule follow-up appointments and procedures based on the provider’s instructions
Collect any remaining balances and help patients save a card on file
Answer questions about next steps and make sure patients leave knowing what comes next
Answer inbound patient calls (scheduling, rescheduling, general questions), especially on our busiest phone days, Mondays and Fridays
Later in training: greet arriving patients by video in our lobby and check them in

Schedule and pay

Full-time, during our clinic hours: 8-4 PM Pacific Time (overnight shift in Manila)
Starting at $9/hour
Long-term position with a stable, supportive team

Requirements

Fluent, near-native spoken English: clear, natural, unhurried, and warm. Patients should be able to understand you easily on video and over the phone.
Patience with elderly patients and people who aren’t comfortable with technology
Able to switch smoothly between video visits and phone calls
Comfortable on camera for a full shift
Professional appearance and a quiet, well-lit workspace with a neutral, uncluttered background (no virtual backgrounds)
Reliable high-speed internet and backup internet and backup power (please describe yours)
Computer with a good webcam and headset
Experience in US healthcare, medical reception, or a call center preferred
ModMed (EMA) experience is a strong plus
Understanding of patient privacy (HIPAA)

How to apply
Applications without a video will not be considered.

Use the subject line “Patient Welcome” so we know you read the full posting.
Record a short video (2–3 minutes) in your actual work setup:
Read this aloud: “Hi, I’m [your name], and I’ll be helping you check out today. Dr. Krishna would like to see you back in three months. I have a Tuesday morning in January available. Would that work for you?”
Then answer in your own words: “An elderly patient is confused about their next steps and getting frustrated. How would you help them?”
Briefly describe your backup internet and power setup, and any medical reception or call center experience.
