Short form Content Creator
Confidential employer
If your showreel is full of zoom punches, whoosh sounds, emoji pop-ups and captions bouncing all over the screen, this is not the job for you.
We want an editor who trusts the message enough to get out of its way.
Who We Are
Mojo Human Performance Institute is a leadership and performance company that works with scaling business owners. Our founder, Michael Mojo, helps them become the leader their business actually needs.
Our podcast is live and pulling global names into the room. We run live events through the year, we coach founders every week, and we have a community of business owners who hold each other to a higher standard. All of it gets captured.
What we say matters. The way it gets cut has to match.
What We Mean By "Not Overly Animated"
Most coaching content online looks the same. Loud, busy, chopped to pieces, built to stop a thumb and say nothing. We have tried that style. It does not sound like us and it does not land with the people we serve.
This is the most important part of this ad, so read it twice.
What we want:
- Clean cuts that let a point breathe.
- Captions that are readable, consistent and on brand. Not every word flashing a different colour.
- B-roll and graphics only when they add meaning, never to fill space.
- Music that sits under the voice, never on top of it.
- Hooks built from what was actually said, not from sound effects.
What we do not want:
- Constant zooms, shakes and transitions.
- Meme inserts, emoji overlays and stacked sound effects.
- Trend formats forced onto serious content.
- Clickbait captions that promise more than the clip delivers.
If you can make a 40 second clip of someone talking feel gripping with almost nothing added, you are who we are looking for.
What You Will Do
- Cut short form for Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn from podcast, coaching, event and behind the scenes footage.
- Find the moments. Timestamps will be flagged, but the best clips are often the ones nobody noticed. Watch properly and spot them.
- Own the first two seconds. That is where a clip lives or dies.
- Work to the Mojo brand, not to trends. Content that gets views but does not sound like us is a fail here, not a win.
- Deliver volume, consistently. This is a lot of good work every week, not one beautiful edit a fortnight.
- Keep the edit pipeline organised so nothing sits waiting.
- Review clip performance with the Content Lead and use the numbers to get better.
You Need To Understand Coaching
This is not a niche you are passing through. You need to get the coaching and personal development space.
You know the difference between a genuine leadership insight and motivational filler. You have watched enough business and self development content to know what feels credible and what feels like a guru selling a course. You can tell when a moment in a session is real, and you know how to protect it in the edit.
If you are into self development yourself, even better. You will hear coaching every day that founders pay serious money for.
Culture Fit: Our Standards
We hire on these as much as on skill. They are the four standards Michael has set for the whole team, and you will be held to them from day one.
Lead yourself first. You manage your own time, energy and workload. You do not wait to be chased. When you get something wrong, you own it and fix it.
Deliver the outcome. Effort is not the measure. Finished, published clips that do their job are.
Communicate with intent. Say what you mean, and say it early. If a deadline is at risk, we hear about it before it is missed, with a solution attached.
Define the greater impact. Every clip reaches a business owner who might be stuck. Edit like that matters, because it does.
Who You Are
- You have a portfolio of short form you have cut, and it shows restraint as much as skill.
- You are fast and consistent. Good and done beats perfect and Thursday.
- You take feedback without taking it personally. There will be plenty early on.
- You are comfortable in Premiere, DaVinci, CapCut or similar, including captions and basic audio clean up.
- You are happy in the building at Hendon every day and can travel for events. This role is not remote or hybrid.
Who You Are Not
- An editor whose style is the star of the show.
- Someone who chases the trend over the brand. We have been burned by this before.
- Someone who needs to be left alone for a week. This is a team seat with daily contact.
- Someone who sees coaching content as just another client category.
What You Get
- Proper training from people who care about this craft.
- More reps in a year than most editors get in three.
- Access to rooms you would not otherwise be in.
- A growing team, with room to grow inside it.
