About Us
Plush Rose a Blowout Bar Salon Inc. is a growing U.S.-based salon company with locations in Georgia and Missouri. We are a small, team-based organization focused on providing excellent service while building a strong, organized business.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager who can take ownership of our human resources operations, improve existing processes, and help establish consistent policies and procedures across our locations.
We already have systems in place, but we recognize opportunities to improve organization, communication, and efficiency.
We need someone who brings experience, takes initiative, identifies problems, and recommends solutions without needing constant direction.
Our goal is to build a professional, well-organized HR department that can support our current employees and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized employee personnel files and documentation.
- Track employment agreements, certifications, policy acknowledgments, and important HR deadlines.
- Establish consistent digital recordkeeping procedures across locations.
- Review current HR systems, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
Attendance, Scheduling & Employee Communication
- Develop clear procedures for attendance, punctuality, call-outs, schedule changes, and time-off requests.
- Track attendance concerns and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Manage time-off policies, balances, accruals, and approval workflows within Gusto.
- Establish clear communication procedures between employees, salon managers, and HR.
- Ensure employees report immediate staffing concerns to their on-site manager, with appropriate follow-up and documentation through HR.
- Serve as the primary contact for routine HR questions, employee concerns, and policy clarification.
- Provide regular updates to ownership while escalating matters requiring management decisions.
Gusto & Payroll Administration
- Assist with payroll preparation and review through Gusto.
- Verify employee hours, time-off entries, pay adjustments, and payroll changes.
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections before payroll processing.
- Review our current Gusto setup and recommend improvements.
- Help streamline payroll preparation, onboarding, employee records, and time-off administration.
- Coordinate with salon management to ensure timely and accurate payroll information.
Final payroll approval will remain with the business owner.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Employee Relations
- Assist with job postings, applicant screening, and interview coordination.
- Develop consistent hiring, onboarding, and offboarding procedures.
- Maintain onboarding checklists, employee orientation materials, and required employment documents.
- Coordinate employment eligibility verification and new-hire documentation with authorized U.S.-based personnel.
- Establish structured employee performance review processes and evaluation templates.
- Support salon managers with employee coaching, corrective actions, and performance improvement documentation.
- Help address employee concerns professionally while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Process Improvement
- Develop, organize, and maintain professional SOPs for HR and employee-related processes.
- Review existing policies, procedures, and company documents to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create standardized forms, checklists, templates, and workflows for hiring, onboarding, payroll, attendance, and performance management.
- Work with salon management to document operational procedures, including opening and closing responsibilities and employee expectations.
- Establish a centralized, easy-to-maintain digital SOP system.
- Help managers implement new procedures consistently across locations.
- Create systems that can be easily introduced as the company expands.
HR Policies & Compliance
- Review and help maintain the employee handbook and company HR policies.
- Recommend improvements to attendance, leave, scheduling, employee conduct, and performance policies.
- Help coordinate HR practices in accordance with applicable U.S. federal, Georgia, and Missouri employment requirements.
- Identify potential compliance concerns and recommend appropriate professional guidance when needed.
- Support consistent HR procedures while recognizing location-specific requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional HR experience, preferably as an HR Manager, Senior HR Generalist, or similar role.
- Previous experience supporting U.S.-based businesses and employees is required.
- Hands-on experience with Gusto is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll administration, onboarding, employee records, attendance management, and employee relations.
- Proven experience developing or improving HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and internal workflows.
- Experience supporting small or growing businesses is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and offering professional recommendations.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and digital documentation.
- Experience supporting multiple business locations is a plus.
- Familiarity with U.S. government contract employment requirements is an advantage but not required.
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who genuinely enjoys creating structure, solving problems, and helping businesses operate more efficiently.
The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, proactive, and confident enough to make recommendations rather than simply wait for instructions.
You should be comfortable evaluating existing processes, explaining what needs improvement, and taking responsibility for implementing those improvements.
We value someone who can work independently while maintaining professional communication with ownership and salon management.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week initially.
- $6.50 USD per hour.
- Long-term opportunity with potential for additional hours as the company grows.
- Some availability during U.S. Eastern or Central business hours is required.
- Flexible scheduling outside required coordination hours.
Initially, the focus will be on organizing employee records, improving communication procedures, reviewing Gusto and HR policies, and developing essential SOPs. Additional responsibilities will transition into the role as systems become established.
How to Apply
Please provide the following information:
1. A summary of your HR experience, including how many years you have supported U.S.-based companies.
2. Your experience using Gusto and the specific HR or payroll functions you have managed.
3. Examples of SOPs, employee handbooks, onboarding systems, or HR processes you have personally developed or improved.
4. Your experience managing attendance, time-off requests, payroll administration, and employee performance.
5. Your experience working with small businesses or multiple locations.
6. Your availability during U.S. business hours and confirmation that the advertised hourly rate works for you.
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can help us organize, improve, and manage our HR operations—not someone who is learning human resources for the first time.
If you enjoy taking ownership, improving systems, and helping a growing business operate more efficiently, we’d love to hear from you.
