About the Role

Own the accounting. Help build what comes next.

We're a growing US-based, technology-enabled services business looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead hands-on accounting across three related entities.

You'll take ownership of the books, establish dependable reporting, and strengthen the processes behind the numbers. You'll also work directly with business and technical leadership to improve systems and reduce unnecessary manual work.

This role suits someone who brings controller-level accounting judgment, enjoys solving problems, and communicates clearly. You should be comfortable doing the detailed work while helping build an accounting function that can grow with the business.

What you'll own

  • Multi-entity accounting: Maintain accurate books, reconciliations, and intercompany balances across three related businesses.
  • Monthly close and reporting: Establish a consistent close process and deliver timely financial statements with clear explanations of results.
  • Day-to-day financial operations: Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payment preparation within appropriate approval processes.
  • Fee and payment accounting: Ensure customer-specific pricing and payment arrangements are accurately reflected in the books.
  • Cash visibility: Maintain practical cash forecasts and flag cash needs, unusual balances, and discrepancies early.
  • Processes and controls: Document workflows, strengthen financial safeguards, and make recurring work more reliable.
  • Systems improvement: Partner with technical leadership to identify automation opportunities, explain accounting requirements, and verify that improvements work correctly.
  • External coordination: Prepare organized records and work with outside tax and accounting advisers as needed.

You'll stay involved in the daily work while improving how it gets done.

What you bring

  • Controller-level skills and experience, shown through meaningful ownership of accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and experience supporting US-based businesses.
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency.
  • Experience managing multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English. You can participate confidently in live discussions, write clear updates, ask precise questions, and explain financial issues to non-accountants.
  • The ability to investigate discrepancies, work through incomplete information, and recognize when an issue needs clarification or escalation.
  • Availability to work a consistent schedule aligned with US business hours, with some flexibility in start and end times.
  • A reliable remote-work setup, stable internet, and a practical backup plan.

Experience improving accounting processes, handling complex billing arrangements, or working with software integrations and automation is especially valuable.

How you work

  • You follow through. You keep priorities moving, meet commitments, and surface problems early.
  • You exercise sound judgment. You investigate before drawing conclusions, document important assumptions, and make unresolved issues visible.
  • You look for practical improvements. You notice recurring problems and help fix the process behind them.
  • You protect accuracy. You welcome better tools while maintaining appropriate review, approvals, and accountability.
  • You stay hands-on. You're comfortable reconciling a difficult account, preparing reports, and discussing improvements with leadership.

Your first 90 days

You'll develop a clear understanding of the entities, books, and transaction flows. You'll identify the most important gaps and agree on priorities with leadership.

From there, you'll establish a dependable close and reporting routine, improve cash visibility, document core workflows, and begin implementing practical improvements. Priorities and timing will reflect the condition of the books and the resources available.

Why join us

  • Meaningful ownership: Help shape how the accounting function operates.
  • Direct collaboration: Work closely with business and technical decision-makers.
  • Practical use of technology: Help turn recurring manual work into reliable processes.
  • Room to grow: Develop your responsibilities as the business and accounting function evolve.
  • Fully remote work: Work from the Philippines with a consistent, agreed schedule.

Schedule and compensation

  • Location: Remote, Philippines.
  • Commitment: Full-time.
  • Schedule: US business hours, with a couple of hours of flexibility in start and end times. We'll agree on a consistent schedule during hiring that supports regular collaboration with the US team. This generally means evening and overnight work in the Philippines.
  • Compensation: Based on experience, accounting capability, and scope of responsibility. Please include your expected monthly compensation in PHP.
