About the Role

About us
Rayken Digital builds websites for nonprofits with AI built in. Our product, Rayken One, includes “Ask,” an AI tool that lets visitors type a question and get an answer pulled from the organization’s own reports, research, and documents. For a nonprofit sitting on years of publications nobody can find, that changes who uses their work. Ongoing hosting and maintenance is a separate monthly plan.

We’ve completed our first nonprofit project. Now we need someone to help us turn that into a repeatable pipeline.

The job: execute, then improve
We’ve done the groundwork. We need someone to put it to work and make it better.

What’s already built:

A list of about 700 environmental nonprofits in the eastern United States, all in the $500K–$3M revenue range
Each one checked for revenue, website, platform, how recently the site was updated, and other details
A ranked priority list, so you know where to start

1. Calling and booking meetings

Call down the list and reach the right person (usually the Executive Director, Communications Director, or Development Director)
Start conversations about how AI on their website could help them: making their research easy to find, answering the questions their staff answer every day, helping funders and members find what they need
Find out if there’s a real need and book meetings with qualified prospects for our founders
Follow up when it makes sense
Log every call and outcome in our Excel tracker

You will not be closing deals.

2. Improving the prospect list
Our list is a starting point, not a finished product. You’ll:

Fix bad data as you find it: wrong numbers, people who left, orgs that closed or merged
Find and add the right decision-maker names, titles, and contact info
Flag orgs that don’t fit and should come off the list. Attention to detail matters in this role, so to show us you read this far, begin your application with the words “Rayken Digital” before anything else.
Recommend which orgs should move up or down, based on what you hear on calls
Find new nonprofits that fit our target

3. Improving how we sell
Tell us what’s working and what isn’t, with the calls to back it up:

Which openings get real conversations
How prospects react to AI: interested, skeptical, confused
Which objections come up and what handles them
Which kinds of orgs are worth our time

If our list, script, or targeting is wrong, we want to hear it.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll be the first voice many US nonprofit leaders hear from us. These are executive directors who get a lot of calls and d ---------- in the first few seconds whether to keep listening. To earn that time, you need to sound like a natural, confident speaker of American English. That means:

Excellent spoken English with a clear, neutral American accent that US listeners understand easily
Natural, conversational phrasing, not scripted or formal
Comfort with American business norms: direct, friendly, and to the point

We will judge this from your interview or mock call recording, so please make sure it reflects how you’ll actually sound on the phone.

Requirements

3+ years of B2B cold calling or appointment setting, calling US businesses
Spoken English as described above
Able to work 9am–5pm US Eastern time (night shift in the Philippines)
Able to explain AI in plain language to a non-technical person
Comfortable keeping an Excel log accurate and up to date
Basic research skills: finding the right person at an organization using their website and LinkedIn
Reliable internet with a backup, quiet workspace, and a noise-canceling headset

Nice to have

Experience selling AI tools, software, or tech services
Experience calling nonprofits, associations, or schools
Experience cleaning or building prospect lists

How it works

Part-time, 15–20 hours per week to start, in set blocks during US Eastern business hours
Paid hourly for time worked
Two-week trial, then we d ---------- together whether to continue and whether to add hours
Short end-of-day report on days you work

How we’ll measure the work
Not just call counts. We’ll look at conversations with the right people, meetings booked and actually held, how much better the list gets, and useful feedback on what’s working.

To apply
Use this exact subject line: BDR Application – Nonprofit AI – [Your Full Name]

Applications that don’t follow all of the instructions in this post will not be reviewed.

Then answer:

How many cold calls do you make in a typical hour, and how often do you reach a decision-maker?

In two or three sentences, how would you explain the value of AI on a website to the director of a small environmental nonprofit who isn’t technical?

You spend two hours calling and barely reach anyone useful. How do you figure out whether the problem is the phone numbers, the time of day, the list, or your approach?

How do you find the right decision-maker at an organization when the website only lists a general info@ email ?

Attach or link a 1–2 minute recording of you doing a mock cold call to a US business (any industry is fine).
